We stayed there a couple of months in the winter 2007. It's a very clean and nice park but very remote. It's an average drive of 45 minutes to the North or to the South to get groceries, go out for dinner, see a movie, etc. But if you want quiet, hot tubs, pools and mineral springs, it's a nice place. Other activities are limited as they have billiards, shuffleboard, Bocce Ball, tennis and a few other group activities. They do have scorpions, big spiders and a few snakes. We had a couple who were walking their dog and it was attacked by a pack of coyotes who roam the park at night searching for food. There is also the Santa Ana winds that can come roaring in quickly...tie everything down.
We have been there many times. We like to go for the weekend in the spring right after the snowbirds leave, and in the fall right before they all come. It is mainly retired people living there. On the weekends you can find a few families that come. Many pools, and hot spa's. Many other activities during winter season. They have a store with basic groceries and supplies on grounds. Just a mile or two up the street, there is a small restaurant. (located at another campground). You have a view over the plains and the Salton Sea, and you can barely hear the train passing through in the distance at night. During snowbird season, you must have a reservation, but when we go, usually April, or late October there is no need for reservations. Plenty of room. During that time, they also have many water excersise classes in the larger pool that the kids can play in. Usually from 7 am to 11 am. But if you plan it right, and most people are not there, there is only 1 or 2 classes, and they don't go so long. We like this place, it is very clean. We did run in to two large tarantulla one time. They also have laundry facilities.
