Howdy,

Interested in looking at PUPs in the Houston area. Will probably start with a used one. What are some outlets to look for them? They don't seem to be too readily available here -- I guess because of our climate?

For new units, it appears that ToppersRV (Fleetwood/Starcraft) and LoneStar (Jayco) are the two dealers for new units. Am I missing any other dealers with decent inventory?

For used units, the Craigslist/Ebay attempts for our location don't seem to have a stellar selection. Lots of older "hunting" camps, etc.

What are some other dealers/areas I should consider to expand my search selections?

Thanks

Mark

With Craig's list and ebay, you have to keep looking. On ebay, they only stay up for 7 days. My wife and I used to take a look every Monday. We bid on several until we finally found the one we wanted. From my initial desire to purchase took about 8 months or so. Drove the wife nuts.

I don't believe many 'outlets' cary used due to a small profit margin. You might look at the main chain's as they quite often get trade-ins that they will unload at a good price. It'll be hit or miss.

I think you may be challenged in TX due to the heat. We were there last summer and I wish we had hard sides, AC couldn't keep up. I would think PUP's would be less popular there, but I could be wrong. Might expand your search North a bit.

If you want a bargin, you have to look, probably for quite awhile.

You'll do just as well looking at the classified in your local papers as with your local dealers.

Thanks...PPL doesn't offer pop-ups, but a great resource for all other classes.

rvtrader, traderonline, etc all seem to only offer new units by dealers.

I'm guessing that the local used market is so small that people are snatching them up fairly quickly on craigslist, etc.

I'll just keep my eyes out.

Thanks

Mark
