Cut the bad off, replace the end, and then buy an extension cord.

There’s more than one way to skin a cat, here's the way I’d do it.
Buy a new 25-foot RV extension cord at Wal-Mart, cut and discard the female end, and use that as your new replacement cord. (IMO, a factory installed male end is always better than a replacement plug).
Next, put a replacement plug on the old cord and use that as necessary for an extension.
That's what I'd do. Jack

Sorry to hear about your boo-boos......that stinks! But rest assured, it happens to all of us from time to time. I've had my fair share, eventhough I always try to be very careful.
I think I would also just cut off the 3' and put a new plug on it. My only concern is how to properly seal the new plug. Most replacement plugs that I have seen are not water-tight, although, most campgrounds have boxes now that close after the plug is inserted into the socket.
My thought is if you need the extension cord anytime, how to you secure the connection between cords so it is not affected if it rains?

I'd go with 3' short & a new end. If you find it's too short you can buy a 30Amp extension cord at WallyWorld for under $40.
As far as boo boo's I know I can't see everything so my bride & I use walkie talkies & she is my eyes when I'm backing the TT in. So far no mishaps (knock on wood)!
