Some things are just too good to have been made up.
The back story: The local paper has been reporting on a series of thefts at Grady Hospital - the major Atlanta trauma center and downtown public facility. The incidents came to a boil when a dying young woman's engagement and wedding rings were stolen. Police quickly stepped in and arrested social services worker Tacuma Jawara for the thefts. Jawara would receive the items from the nurses and was supposed to take them to the hospital security office. It would appear they were deposited in his pocket, instead.
In today's article one of Jawara's performance reviews was quoted (and I'm not making this up!) that he had a "good grasp on handling valuables for patients"!! and was given a good rating as an employee.
