Terro is amazing stuff! If they are already there, that's what I'd use. If you're preventing them from getting in....I love the ant powder. I'd use it liberally around every tire (360*), and every jacking point (360*), and anywhere else the motorhome comes in contact with the ground. Ensure there's no other path for the ants to get in. Luckily My TT hasn't been hit, but the ants love my boat. Even after the powder, huge chutes of crab grass provided the little devils a way into my boat!

You'll need to go somewhere that sells live stock feed, cattle, horses, sheep, ect. Sometimes grain elevators have it, but a good feed (elevator) will have it too (depends upon where you live). It comes in 50 pound bags. I usually go through a 50 pound bag every summer because I sprinkle it all over the yard, like grass fertlizer, and throw extra on ant hills that begin to form. I also do the neighbors house on both side of us, just to keep the ants away further down the road! The neighbors appreciate it too.

By the way, it smells really nice too. Very sweet smell, and the neighbors will be asking you what that smell is. It's a great opportunity to make up a great story and leave them wondering?

Was told to use Comet Cleanser sprinkled around the coach. Haven't used it yet, but it's in the cabinet. Reminds me of a jingle from grade school:

Comet. It makes your mouth turn green.
Comet. It tastes like Listerine
Comet. It make you vomit
So buy Comet and vomit today!

Don't use Comet, it is a household cleaner that contains bleach and is not safe for use outdoors on the ground or around animals (pets or wildlife). Read the label. Folks starting using Ajax cleanser, similar to Comet, for ants because it is white, and they mistakenly thought it was what folks were using when they were, in fact, using boric acid. Get the boric acid, it is safe to use and is cheap.

The ants are coming in because they smell food. Even seemingly innocuous stuff like crumbs behind the stove, etc., will attract them.

If you don't give them a reason to come in, they won't. Keep any food items tightly sealed in clean containers, or better yet, don't leave food in the trailer while it's in storage.

Some ants aren't attracted to food at all. Carpenter ants being one of them; they are attracted to dampness and will eat up damp wood about as fast as termites will and do just as much damage. I do agree though that making sure all crumbs, etc. are cleaned up is a great idea. Ants are just one reason I never bring food into my popup at all. Even then, I have had them in there when camping (they came up the electric cord after I forgot to spray it and put boric acid around the area where it touched the ground).

My experience most any powder works. Its the texture they dislike and avoid. Common link in all these products and all work. Baby powder works too. Just sprinkle around jacks, tires or anything they can climb. Been using Baby powder or powder detergents, tide etc., since 1980's and has always worked for us in deterring them. Doesn't make them run for cover but keeps them out as they won't climb the powder..

Boric acid kills them, it has been used an insectiside since the 1940s. It doesn't just keep them from coming in.
