Greetings.....
I've run into the same problem with a coupla' electrical pedestals where the surge guard "pigtail" is too short to plug the unit in safely, (the cord hits the pedestal rim/flange just below the plug and tilts the guard outward so that the plug wants to disengage).
I use the SurgeGuard Model#34730.
I was going to make up my own shorter 'Dogbone', but then I saw this thing:www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/rv-surge-protector-circuit-analyzer/35145.
Any thoughts from you folks...? Overkill? Bad idea? I'm not sure if it's what I'm after and even if it'll stay plugged in any better than what I have now because of the weight and the dual connections.
Thanks as always....enjoy the journey....

I use THIS ONE. Seems eaier to use and plug in at the pedestal.
Thanks for your reply "ram". I edited my post to show what I use. It's just that some pedestals' plugs are closer to the bottom than others that's causing this 'problem'.
I have the one from camping world you noted. When plugged into the pedestal it is a little to long and the bottom hits the lip of the pedestal and tilts the bottom outward also so the prongs aren't in all the way, but so far no problems.
