For all of you looking at new 5th wheels, here's an option.
We looked and looked and in the end I asked my wife what she really wanted in a new one. Basically it came down to the interior so we just remodeled.
We recovered all of the valances and lambrequins with fabric and trim she got to pick out. The curtains for the bedroom were an easy find at wally world.
I painted all of the hinges on the cabinets with oil rubbed bronze and then went to hunt light fixtures. Finally gave up on that and took down the ones we had and painted them and the ceiling fan with the same bronze paint. Handles for the cabinets were easy to find in a hardware store. By the way the plastic light fixtures were easy to paint by putting on fusion primer for plastic. After that they will trake any kind of paint.
We even found a new sleeper sofa that fit the area and two new rocker recliners. The bed that came on the new sofa is great, my kids love it (darn now I'll never get rid of them). It's a trick to find the smaller size furniture, but it's out there.
I also replaced the vanity top in the bath with a cultured marble one that lowe's had on closeout.
We did all of this and a few minor things (like putting some moulding trim on the cabinets and giving a frame like treatment to those glass closet doors) for less that $2,500. Sure did beat what I would have put up to buy a new one.
None of it was hard or required a lot of skill and actually we had a good time doing it.
Next time you get bored with your camper try a remodel.

I am in the process of doing some upgrades to our 5er as well. We wanted to buy a new one, but because our house was foreclosed on, our credit is******right now. Sometimes though, one should be thankful for small favors. I say that 'cause I'm not sure what manufactures will be around a year from now to do warrantee work. At any rate, as soon as I get my cabinet doors in that I am waiting for I'll post them here too.

I look forward to seeing yours! Happy camping and traveling! - Eric-

If everything works for you, I think remodeling is the best way to save money.

We're considering upgrading our 5er, only because the 2009's have some features that they didn't have until now and it's expensive to retrofit. It's a tough decision, since I've already made lots of interior changes on ours with the help of my handy DH. Have a few more storage ideas, but am saving those for the future.

Here's my best effort at posting pictures. We still aren't finished. Still looking at some things, but it's still better for us than buying new and it has been fun.
The new look is above the old.
