While on a recent trip we pulled into a camp ground for the night. They said we were in luck as they had one site left. When we got to our site, I went outside to hookup and I couldn't believe what I saw. The site next to us was covered in dog poop. I don't mean just a little bit, it was covered. I couldn't even get to the electrical or sewer connections because I would have to step in dog poop. I would like to add that there was a dog run just a very short distance away. I went to the office and told them about the problem and they sent a young man down to check it out. Well about that time a lady came out and started screaming at me for turning her in. She said that her dog got out last night and messed and she just hadn't cleaned it up yet. I got to tell you NO dog could poop that much in one night. Then she sent her son out to clean everything up. He looked to be about 7 or 8 years old. The poor kid was about to throw up. When he finished, he had a garbage bag full. I've been RVing a long time and I've never seen anything like this before.

I find it hard to believe you have never seen dog pop before. LOL......

When Tiny Tim was running for Mayor of New York City, one of his campaign issues was the dog pop in the parks. He wanted to pass a law fining violators $50,000.00 for the first offense. I am in agreement in part to this.

It is a very disrespectful dog owner that wouldn't pick the droppings up. And with those little baggy deals it's not like using your hand. JMHO Bill

On our last mini-rally one of the members was tent camping. The second morning there was huge poop left 15' from her tent.
We own 2 lovely Jack Russel Terries and on our hiking we noticed one rule. The bigger the poop, the more likely it is going to be left on the center of the trail. I always say "I love pets, but I hate negligent pet owners".

Maybe they need to be told. I carry extra doggie poop bags with me and offer one to a dog owner that doesn't have one. Lots of campgrounds offer bags too. I say something like "I see you forgot your bags. Have one of mine."

And then they look at you as to say, "I'll just leave it there since it's biodegradable". Some have no pride either. Makes you wonder what their house looks like.

This really irritates me --- sometimes @ CGs we'll be sitting outside and someone is walking their dog and it stops right at our site and they let the dog do its thing. One time we were eating -- we had to get up and tell them -- Stop -- that's rude. Go somewhere else.

If we had a dog I would work so hard to train it to do it's business in my yard, my site or in a common area before we went for a walk. For sure I would not let it go on or near other folks campsites. Even if they were not there.

I would think that if the woman, (I didn't say lady) yelled at you for turning her in, I hope you gave her a few come backs as to why she is not a smart person. I know I would have given her an education or two.

If you're going to have a pet, for Pete's sake, take care of it. That definitely includes picking up after it. Some folks are just plain lazy I guess. I don't blame you one bit for letting the park know. If you had just let it go, they would have probably left without picking that up and the next fellow would have to deal with it.

What a vacation if one has to become an unpaid "POOP" manager! This is making Wal-Mart smell mighty nice. Yes I am serious.
