Another one bites the dust.

It appears that Pilgrim will be closing the doors today. I, for one, will be sad to see them go. They stepped up and pulled my trailer back to Indiana in Jan., repaired it and sent it back all at no cost.

All these trailers have problems, but they went above and beyond to help me out. It will be interesting to see who's left when the smoke clears.

When ever you think that you have it rough, just think about the residents of Elkhart. That town is folding up faster than a chinese made tent.

It's a cryin' shame...especially when you consider the whole reason for the closures is the direct result of greed by the "speculators" driving up oil prices.

The sad part is the end of this nonsense is nowhere in sight....

In Wisconsin, we got hit with all the paper mills laying off and closing down. The latest was 500 workers laid off due to paper mill closing down.

Sure, high gas prices are partly to blame... but when you think about it, the standard of living in the USA is so much higher than anywhere else... and that's part of the problem also.
That's why companies are going overseas... low wages, low cost of goods, and on top of that in a lot of places, low taxes.

And that's due to the difference in the standard of living.

But that's one man's opinion...

The "bite" of the speculators has been declining steadily with just the threat of increased supply - DRILL NOW!! And in the meantime, develop nuclear, hydrogen, solar, wind, etc......and keep US oil at home for jet fuel, etc. that cannot operate "green".

GOSHEN — Another blow to the RV industry — Keystone RV in Goshen is laying off almost 300 workers.

CEO Ron Fenech says 290 workers were laid off Thursday morning, effective immediately.

Fenech says the uncertainty of the market is the problem amid the struggling economy and high gas prices.

He says it's not uncommon for RV companies to lay off workers heading into the fall when the summer camping season ends, but adds Keystone has never done this before.

The company will still employ 2,600 people.

The announcement comes just three weeks after Monaco Coach laid off 1,400 workers in Elkhart County.
