You're right, 105 is 105.

What's 10 miles among Texas fans? (Thanks for correcting me. I got my signs mixed up, I guess)

Well, I walk every morning all year round...but in the summer, I'm out there before the sun creeps over the horizon.

It's anywhere from 72 to maybe 80. When the sun starts to shine, add on 5 to 7 degrees for the first hour.

Mid-day--it's going from A/C to A/C. Just part of life here in Texas.

MilkTruck, we live in Virginia right now. The Austin area can be just as humid. Keep in mind, though, that there are lots of climates just up the road a piece, with a lot lower humidity. Was back in the Hill Country in May, and the heat and humidity were totally different from the heat and humidity we'd left here. But up near Dallas, it was the same as here.

I much prefer the Hill Country heat.

We retired in Texas 3 years ago from Calgary and a few other countries around the world. First time we went rving, in the great Hill Country city of Fredericksburg, we meant two couples from Austin. I was emptying my black tank and they came over and insisted on shaking hands and introducing themselves, inspite of my gloved hands. We full time, and every time we stop in Texas, these couples, who have adopted my DW and I, make sure they spend at least a weekend or two with us (they all work). Talk about friendly, Texans are the best. We bought a condo on Lake Belton about an hour from Austin. the developer told us anything we needed as far as repairs, as long as he had a crew in the area they would fix it. A year later I noticed a bad step, he sent a carpenter to replace it. 2 1/2 years later my jetted tub motor went out, no longer under warranty. He replaced it no charge. You are going to love the people here. Great rv parks all around Austin area with lots of lakes. Currently spending summer at the Fredericksburg KOa, run by a great couple who go out of their way to make you comfortable. So, YA'ALL come down andx see us.................................Did I mention the great CATFISH and BBQ...........

Oh, I know about the BBQ. I did experience that one time when I was in Grapevine. Right now we're looking at the Round Rock area. Actually spoke with a realtor last night and have plans to go down there around Columbus day for a week or so to look around and feel things out. DW job is in Austin so we need to be right around that area.

One other thing I've got to look into is parking regulations for RV's and if you can have them on your property and what not. I'm hoping not to move down into one of the cookie cutter neighborhoods because I doubt they would allow it. Any one have any ideas around that? Is that common down in that area?

As most have said camping is great Sept-June, the other two are pretty hot months, but you can if you want. There is some great camping around there and a Texas Park Pass may be the way to go if you start camping at them. We find them all pretty nice, some better then others, but the part we like is as long as you fish from the shore in a state park you do not need a fishing license.

Welcome to the state and enjoy.
