I always kinda liked the "shaking gun" Thumb and index finger, it says hello but also says lets go. And if ya'll (yes I say ya'll) are like me the best thing in life is "lets go"....I will be installing a CB soon as I get back home we definately need a channel there.

Thumb and index finger extended is "guns up" in Red Raider Country (Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX).

As yes, the day of a nice lazy wave as we traveled slower speeds in TX are going, going, but not gone entirely.

A few weeks ago, sitting in my '77 Z waiting to turn right out of WallyWorld, a hugh Allegro cruised though the light. I had my window down and waved with lots of vigor. His rig was awesome. He was cute too with his greyed haired self.Next to him, at the next light, I was totally dwarfed, but had fun gunning that Z uphill and pulling out and away.

We're so rural and on roads with iffy shoulders, that in general the locals just raise an index finger hello as we pass.

I've got it!

Here is one no one uses.

Raise your right pinky.

It means life is good.

People have been passing me for years giving me what I always thought was the RV universal wave. Especially when they have been behind me for awhile. I'd always guessed they had been following me for so long because they were checking my rig out. When I slow down even further to let them pass they always signal with a finger that my rig is #1 best-or I assume that's what they're saying . Usually everyone in the car is waving and saying something-I can't read lips though-but their mouths are really going. They must be really impressed to be speaking that fast.

How about turning loose of the wheel and raising your legs and clicking your heals behind your head 3 times? I am pretty sure it's not being used and should get their attention!

In the rural area where I grew up, 1 or 2 fingers raised from the steering wheel was a wave. Here in N. NM it seems to be a nod of the head (hard to see unless your going slow). I always wave at other RVers, and kinda like the idea of bringing back the peace sign. I have a Goodsam sticker on the pickup, but it can only be seen from the back.

I think using either the old "peace" sign or the "vulcan" sign from Star Trek, which have both been suggested, would be good.

This problem has a simple solution. If you are traveling down a highway, road or etc. and your are passing another RV, wave at them. It doesn't matter how you wave, just do it. If they wave back, then great they are friendly. If they don't wave back then...forget about them. I never did like stuck up people anyway.
