On a recent trip, when I put the switch on gas, the light began flashing ("GAS check if flashing"). The fridge had warmed up and was obviously not working. I had no shore power at the time.
However, when I put the switch on Auto, it started working perfectly.
Lite flashes when burner does not lite. Ours quits trying after a certain number of tries, but lite keeps flashing. When you went to auto, it retried and lit.
Usually happens when propane supply was stopped, even just enough for air to enter lines.
My opinion, worth what it cost.

When you have it set to elec.it will only work on elec.when you set it to auto(always)it will run on elec when pluged in to shore power, but when you unplug from shore power it will automaticly switch to gas. If the gas is off it will blink to let you know to turn on the gas.leave it on auto and you wont have any problems.just make sure the gas is on before you unplug it. Happy camping. Ed.

I have had this happen to me before, too (when switching from electric to gas on "auto").
I have learned that one must check the fridge after un-plugging to be sure it switches properly. If not, a simple recycling of the power ("off" and then "on") usually solves it in only one try.
If I do not check it, sometimes (not often) it will fail to start up properly on gas. Maybe a little air got in teh line or something, but it's a pain for sure if I forget to check it and its off long enough to warm up (that's a pretty long time).
I ran into this same problem after storage-its caused by your LP gas having to displace any air thats in the lines-now as a fulltimer, with alot of use,it switches from electric to gas instantly. You may have to keep moving the switch to relight it 6 or 8 times before it fires-its like a auto coil that fires a spark-you can actually hear it -I have cleaned and checked all connections to the fridge (everyone should do it)and sprayed all gas connections with soapy water from the tank to everything connected-just to be safe.
