Exhaust brake stuck
Bad connection to the CAC?
Bad connection from CAC to engine?
CAC has a hole in it?
Bad turbo

Check in that order

What Deen said...

If you had a sudden loss of boost you have a leak somewhere. Changing the air filter is not gonna fix it either. Check all the boost hoses and their connections.

This much loss of boost usually indicates a serious leeak in the boost system or a crack in the Charge Air Cooler. Do not waste money allowing some mechanic to run up dignostic time. Go to a CAT Dealer with a Dynomometer and get an accurate diagnosis. A CAG is expensive. You need an expert dignosis.

Check all the clamps and hose connection for the air to air exchanger. Sometimes the clamps burst open or the hoses slip off or the hoses split open.

I can highly recommed Tracy Road Equipment. They have locations fairly close to you in both Syracuse and Albany.

As for the trouble, do you always let the turbo cool for a few minutes before shutting it down? Thats a big deal and far too many people don't do it.

There are 24 hours in every day - it all depends on how you choose to use them.

If you hear a hissing sound when accelerating you have a leak in one of the turbo channels. could be just a loose clamp good luck.

If it was coked up, it wouldnt be making any boost in a short time those bearings fry quick.
Check the ussual suspects for leaks and visuals,,, hate to say it, but it may help to have the cover up and listen for a brave soul (what I would do)
