This is a year old or so rumour but wonder if there is anything to it. I suspect the current disintegration of the US financial system and economy may put a damper on any big developments but I can't help but think there might still be a market for it. We like the area and find it quiet and peaceful. Any info out there?????????

The local Paper "Borrego Sun" reported recently that SD County Building department had approved plans for an opscale RV Resort,I believe it is 400 plus sites, in one section the sites would be for sale the rest would be for rent daily/weekly/monthly, the article did not mention Outdoor Resort as the developer. The location of the project are on Borrego Valley Rd.east of Borrego Springs resort, and has been in the "planning stages" for the last 15-20 years. In view of the fact that Borrego Springs already have two private RV Parks and a State park Campground and taken the current economy into account, I am not sure this project will be build any time soon, I will just wait and see.

ps. I forgot to mention that a new RV Park with FHU are about too open in Occotillo Wells off road area

There is no pricing info available at this time but I will do some checking and keep you posted, based on other condo parks my guess would be in the 50.000 to 75.000 to purchase a site, mind you just my guess.
If you come down in your motorhome the Springs of Borrego RV Resort is a very nice place.
Borrego Springs is a very unique spot in s.cal.we have lived here full time for the past 16 years and still love it except for july and august, to darn hot.
Great Dane
PS. I am not connected with any organisation in borrego and don`t promote anything.we just live here.

I think Outdoor World is part of Equient I have the latest (Sept 2008) news letter here. No mention of Borrego Springs
Of course No information =... No information if the park is not yet open for business, and is not expected to open within the next 90 days or so I'd not expect it to be listed.
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

Wa8... So are you suggesting that it is maybe Outdoor World I heard and not Outdoor Resorts?. I am not familiar with Outdoor World although I seem to remember a retail chain by that name or something like it. Do you have more info on them.
Outdoor Resorts is not the only high end RV resort developer that does a good job. We have been to a few that do a nice job including the one in Havasu. Nice spot but a little close to the airport for us...also a little too cool in the winter for Canadian Snowbirds. Probably quite nice in summer though.
Seems to me it would be a good time for a developer to aquire real estate for that kind of venture right now. Just a thought.
