the best thing about this sight is you can go back and see what folks have posted in the past,,,, soren with your keen eye on quality i see you bought a fleetwood product,,, and it had to go back to the factory and be lifted off the frame and be rebuilt??? hummmm,,,, they didnt replace it??? at least Keith got a new unit when his GS was a bad one,,,, and with fleetwoods stocks at the lowest on the market and 1,000,000's do at the end of the year, might want to get what ever need fixed now
as for Mike i dont see any posts on the issues you had with your unit till now??? but glad you got your issues taken care of, warranty can be a problem with out a local dealer, I know our first unit a jayco fold down, had many of them. I have yet to find that perfect manufacture, when you find it let me know,,,,

Please don't get me wrong. The replacement was no example of perfection and had issues that needed to be dealt with shortly after we got it and GS assured us they went through it. Our Prowler on the other hand, a Fleetwood product, had all of 2 loose screws on the PDI. No issues in 4 months.

I certainly would never think of buying a Gulf Stream again, I had way too many issues with them and lost a lot of camping time. This is just my experience with them. First trailer leaked, and rotted out. They replaced it and the new one started to leak. Never again.....read my posts from way back.

I agree that the experience you get from each manufacturer can be horrible or great and it may also depend on how picky you are. Nothing wrong with being a picky person but if you are, problems that seem small to others will be major to you. Another thing to consider is that these trailers pass through a lot of human hands along the assembly line. Unlike cars that are basically machine made, a lazy worker or shift of workers may cut corners on some campers and another shift may do excellent work. The difference can be major when you take the trailer out for the first time.

Personally I have had great luck out of my Gulfstream and when I buy again, I'll buy from a manufacturer with a floor plan that suits me, not necessarily this brand over another.

I have a 2007 Ameri-Lite 21MB and I had a problem with tire wear. My axles lost camber and all I got was a run around from Gulf Stream. Gulf Stream told me to work with Dexter Axle. I replace the axles and tires at a cost of about $1500.00. Dexter claims it must of been overloaded but my weight tickets shows it was not. Then they said it must be dynamic overload. Dexter won't cover it and Gulf Stream won't either. It is still under warranty but they each said it ain't their problem. I am planning to turn it over to a Lemon Law attorney and see what happens next. Stay away from Gulf Steam.

I bought it from Gulf Stream not Dexter. Gulf Stream wouldn't even call Dexter to try and fix the problem, they just shoved me off to Dexter.
Not the way to help a customer. You can give them your money but they will never get another dime from me.

I agree totally, it was purchased from Gulf Stream not Dexter and they should honour the warranty. I certainly had my problems and finally posted the issues here and sent them the link with all the comments. That helped but took a couple of years.

both of you make it sound like you bought your units from the factory????? you bought it off a dealer,,,, where is he in this,,,,,,why are you calling GS and dexter????? he's the one that will be doing the work,, he can and should have called dexter for you,,,,, Like i have said before a good dealer can make all the difference,,,,,,,,sounds to me your dealer is the one dropping the ball and he's the one you gave your money too.....

Its just like motor homes,,, if you have a ford chasse and have issues with the chasse,,,,, you take it to a ford truck dealer thats who made it and warranties it...

That's got to be the dumbest thing I have read all day....

I had a great relationship with the Jayco Factory on some issues I had. My new Crossroads is no different, sometimes calling direct eliminate's the middle-man on things that will require factory contact.
