We had a great time at Guntersville State Park, great fishing, was close to the bath house for the ladys. The most wonderful thing was how close the deer came to you, they would come into your campsite and just did not care. We will go back.
Look at Clear creek it located about 10 miles north of Jasper. Fishing on smithlake and a play ground for the kids.
My favorite is point mallard but I have been camping there for over 35 years.

Roadtrip Kids start packing
To get away from the Guntersville crowds, go further down the road about 15 miles to visit Buck's Pocket State Park. Generally quiet, take hiking trail along creek to get to Guntersville Lake for fishing. Our favorite get-away.
