I try to turn ours off at night......Sometimes I forget ........sorry........
By the way $20 a day on electric???? Wow our son lives in Phx AZ and it truly gets hot there and they have a very large two story house and at the highest their bill was $500 for a month and that was running the A/C night and day.......Still that's under the $20 a day cost..??

It would seem consideration is a two way street, arent they allowed to enjoy thier lights??? No matter where you go in life you can look for things to bother you. It could be seen that you are trying to project your lack of lights on other people. Life is too short to put up with self centered people.
See how that different point of view works??

A different point of view for sure....but a quick count of the replies in this thread would say yours is in the minority.

I personally always turn my lights off, I also do the same at my Home.
It also does not bother me that someone leaves their lights on. I shut my blinds and put a towel over the window if necessary, A full Moon on a clear night makes me do the same thing, And None of us can do anything about that.
I think leaving the marker lights is not cool, i have asked some people why they do it.....some say they think it looks neat, others have said for their kids....
Bottom line.
Does it Really Matter...Life is to short to sweat the small things!!

We don't care if people put up lights or keep them on all night or not... to each his own.
We had a rope light for our awning - put it up for the first time on a camping trip a few weeks ago. They stayed up for about 10 minutes before we quickly took them down. The've been taken out of the trailer and will not go back in... they are too bright - porch light is bright enough for our needs.
That trip, we really didn't need them anyway since the CAMP HOST across from us was lit up so much it was brighter than Las Vegas...

Hello All,
Could those of you that are in currently in the campground, sitting under your awning replying to this post kindly shut the laptop lid. The light from your laptop is preventing me from getting a good late day nap in
Sorry, I could not resist.....We normally shut ours off at night but only have the small rope lights.
I had to build a dimmer for my frinds light set- he runs 60 watt bulbs in a string with 6 lamps. 360 watts of light is just too much for most situations, however, he will not change them as there are times when he wants it daylight when he is looking for things in the dark.

dodge guy wrote: You people have got to be kidding me! so my dim rope lights (red, white and blue) and marker lights are going to bother someone? give me a break! I`ve got news for you, the yellow porch light is just as bright as my rope lights maybe even brighter. and the marker lights are nowhere near as bright as the porch lights or rope lights. just step back one day and take a really good look. as far as someone mentioning prohibiting rope and marker lights, good luck with that one. I think someones campgrounds will be closing sooner rather than later due to that stupid little rule!!!
If you want to prohibit anything it should be those bright !!! scare lights! those are the worst idea ever installed on an RV. I`ve yet to use mine. and there are many people out there that have no idea which switch is which and then don`t turn off the one they got wrong in the first place, which is usually the one they can`t see, the street side one!!!
If you people want pitch black then go camp in a cave! I like to have low power lights on sometimes, and the people that want it dark are going to have to give a little, as it`s not just all about you! same goes for me.
I agree with you Dodge Guy! We use the rope lights around the fiver all nite which are very dim. For grins I once asked a neighbor next to me if they were too bright and he thought they were cool.

Awning lights on when I am cooking those big steaks and the yellow porch light all night if not next to another camper. It is all about being courteous and being aware of others.
