We have a Splendide 2100S. DW was dubious at first but is now a believer. We use ours for everything except the bedspread and dog beds. If we dry camp for a week then we hit a laundromat to get caught up.

You see how many pets are traveling in RV's but they wash their pets bedding in the laundramat and then you come along and wash your clothes in the same machine. That should answer your question about getting your own machine.

It all flushes down the drain. Anyway, what is the difference between a pet urine or stained underwear from humans? It's all in your mind bud!

I agree with Circleearth - Your never know what has been washed in the machine just before you. After 16 years rving and having to find laundrymats when traveling, we ordered our new 2004 with the combo washer/dryer and have never been sorry for the extra cost. The stacks would be nice but would hate to give up the cabinet space above the combo unit. Will never be without one again. It may take 2-3 hours to wash/dry a load but we're always in camp that long in the evening for supper and a little TV before bedtime so its no problem keeping up on laundry. Washer/dryer best addition to an RV since air conditioning.

We don't use ours often, as many of our trips are short (2 to 4 days) but on longer trips, it has come in very handy, and we both agree that while it takes up possible storage space, we wouldn't want a coach without one.

Kinda like that outdoor entertainment center! lol

A. We wash the pet beds in the commercial laundry for the same reason we wash the bedspread there; they won't fit in the Splendide.

B. They are Poodles, don't shed and don't pee their bed.

C. I would rather wash my clothes after the dog beds than most people's underwear.

We use ours even for weekend trips. My wife will wash a load the night before we depart the campground so she doesn't have to do it when we get home.

Drying times have never been an issue. The dryer works very well.

Are you kidding?---wife LOVES it as we go to bed and wake up with dry clothes and the thing is like white noise...dogs don't even mind it...even on the daytrips..wash in--come back and it's dry...would never go anywhere without it again....

When we were looking for our retirement motorhome this was one of the requirements...a washer/dryer. We have the Splendide combo, and love it. It's nice to arrive home with most clothes already washed. Makes unpacking much more effortless. Like others have said, we used to cram in 2 weeks worth of clothes, because we did not want to spend one minute of our vacation in the laundromat. Now we take about 5 days worth, and wash after 4 days. I can't imagine being without the washer/dryer!

Well, this is the first time in years of topics asking about a washer/dryer combo where almost all the posts have been in favor of the Splendide.

Add us to the throngs of "wouldn't be without it" happy campers.
