Based on the previous post, It is obvious that Triker 33 is pro Winegard. That's OK, however here is another viewpoint from a dealer who sells both MotoSat an Winegard. I sent the issues to the dealer and here is his reply:

1. There is more gear slop in the Motosat. The mounting plate, while being longer on the Motosat, is not as wide.
I don't see a difference in gear play. The MotoSat mounting plate is better.
2. The Motosat has plastic/vinyl covers on the mount - the Winegard has metal.
The covers on the MotoSat are plastic.
3. Manual stowing is far more difficult with the Motosat, if it should prove necessary.
Not true, manual stow is easy with MotoSat.
4. The Motosat drive system is not sealed and uses a greased chain drive that will attract dirt.
True not sealed as well. NOT true as the MotoSat chain is like a bicycle chain same as they have used for 10 years and I've never been called to replace one.
5. The Winegard is a completely sealed system - all electronics and drive gear is sealed in a waterproof metal housing.
Yes BUT the electronics for the MotoSat is down INSIDE the coach out of the weather! You decide which is best.
6. The Motosat IDU uses flashing LEDs for status. The Winegard has an LED display with messages.
True, the error codes are flashing LED's, errors found in the manual.
7. The antenna type on the Winegard can be set from the display without looking up stuff in a manual.
No big deal. Like how often will you be changing from DirecTV to another service! It takes about 3 minutes changing the MotoSar including looking up the correct code.
8. The Motosat elevation pins are not plated and rust quickly.
Never had a problem with the pins in 5+ years as a dealer! I've seen units 10+ years old and pin is fine!
9. Motosat uses a center pivot point instead of the ring bearing on the outside edge that the Winegard uses.
10. There is more side-to-side flex in the Motosat - when deployed
Also never had a problem with the side to side flex.

After receiving this information, I purchased a MotoSat SL-5. I just returned from a 4,000 mile trip and it worked flawlessly. I am pleased with MotoSat

Based on the previous post, It is obvious that LK23 is pro Motosat.
But that is OK.

If Triker 33 is pro Winegard. Why would he have a Motosat Datastorm Dish on his MH?

The Winegard Trav'ler SK-3005 has worked flawlessly for over a year now.
And the money saved over the Motosat bought a new 19" HD LCD for the bedroom to replace a 13" CRT.

If they both would have been the same price including install, then closest location of installer on my trip would have gotten my $$$$.

LK23...Why no answer from dealer on # 11?

The only bad thing about the Winegard I have seen. Is it doesn't come with a Blue Light. Maybe that is what makes the Winegard price less.
