We use Verizon Wireless's airtime card. Very good coverage.

Harold,

The first thing to do is to find out what facitlities will be available to you in Connecticut. Where you popup will be parked, will you have wifi available? You wiil want to know for sure, not what someone advertises.

If yes, that is one direction to go. If no, then you will have to decide about traveling to wifi spots or investigating a celluar solution, such as an air card. But if it is to be cellular solution, then you will want to verify that the site has cell coverages.

After those decisions are made, the members of this forum can give you suggestions on the equipment you will need.

I just saw on this forum that Verizon is offering aircard service that you can pay monthly with no 1 or 2 year contract required. Sounds great for someone in your situation. The other carriers will probably follow suit.
The larger carries are all fairly good. Check their coverage areas and pick the one with the best coverage for where you'll be spending the most time.

DW and I have Alltel. Havent been on the road in so long I can't say how it will work. Here at home, it works great. We are hoping to get back on the road soon. The reason we have been off the road is we sold our home and downsized and bought a new double wide. We have been getting settled in and almost have it livable. Shoot, it's almost like camping. This place is in the woods at least a mile from a paved road it is so quite. We have the MH here with us.

For various reasons I do not like Verizon (most to do with cuss-some-more non service) AT&T has been good to me.

That said, Verizon did have the best coverage map not long ago, Since things change faster than I update I can not be sure of that today.. T-Mobile shares AT&T's coverage map (Thanks to a roaming agreement) so anything I say about T-mobile (Who is my cell provider) would apply to AT&T save for the hardware choices (AT&T's is better)
