I got the Scan Gauge II because it has the Tranny Temp function as an 'Add a Gauge'. There are lots of gauges downloadable from thneir web site. I really like it. Its fun. The DW loves electronics...GPS...Laptop...trip monitoring while going down the road. Now she likes to monitor stuff while I drive. We bought a tank of Bad gas on our last trip. Caused a 'Check Engine lite' It cleared it. I still gotta learn to read the 'Codes' tho.
If U get one or any type of 'Reader', after U install all the various gauges U may want, record all the Normal readouts when all is working fine. Thats the only way to know what readings change due to a problem.

Everyone on this forum, and all those folks that I know that have it say that it's one of those things like the cell phone, or computer. How did we ever get along without it!
Mine is fun and informative, and I get great glee at the number of functions it performs, especially the real time fuel mileage! Great bang for the buck, and it will save you money on fuel and preventative maintenance repairs.
I plugged it into my son's car that had a "check engine" light on. The repair shop would have charged 40 bucks for the diagnosis, and $115.00 to replace the oxygen sensor that the Scanguage identified as bad. I did it for $20.00!
I have a VMSpc for our DSDP, Great info, right down to almsot any of the data that is collected. In fact too many to be really usefull for anyone but a service tech trying to diagnose a problem.
