basically as it says. We had it in the shop for some minor issues and they checked the sensors in the tanks beceause they were kinda iffy. The advisor said the tank was really dirty(i kinda doubt that) but anyhow.
now the toilet wont hold the soft landing water. I'm hoping this is an easy one on an adjustment somewhere. I looked at all the linkage, springs and so forth, all looked really well.
I have removed the toiled, cleaned around the sealing ring, didnt really find anything. Although i could see a small spot where the slide flapper dosent seem to move all the way over in the closed position. the water has a really slow trickle when coming out if it.
If i remember right its a therford toilet.

there is a lubricant/sealer made for those units.
maybe that will help. have you made sure the o-ring that seats on the bottom of the bowl is clean and not damaged or dried out?
look for the obvious first then move to other possibilities.

yup when i had it out i looked at things really good. didnt find anything that wasent supposed to be there or any foreign material in the area, pretty clean.
Although i will say that it sorta seemed that the slide flapper had some up and down play, maybe less that 1/32, but then again i am chasing a trickle.??

In the past years when mine dried out I have lubricated the valve with vasoline or vegtable oil .....not put water in for several days and it would hold water again. They dry out especially with city chlorinated water. Andrea

I'll bet while flushing out your tanks he put some kind of wand down the stool and let the blade push it against the seal and crimiped it. There are different types of seals...if yours is a blade that comes across into a rubber slot..use some soapy cleaner and a toothbrush to scrub out the slot (I tie the brush with string to my wrist...no need to complicate the problem by dropping it in). It may just have some residue trapped. If the blade comes across under a rubber sleeve (but not into a slot), clean the underside of the sleeve.
In each case a little cleaning of the blade itself also helps, I agree with others some lubing (vaseline) often helps. The chemical we use are hard on those seals and valve seals.
If none of that does it...you may have to just replace the seal, or in some cases the seal assembly. Not tough, and instructions come with it.....Good Luck...Brian
PS: re "dirty tanks/sensors"....put in about 5gals of water and two bags of ice cubes next time you are headed out, then immediately dump when you get there. I still wouldn't drink out of there, but they will be clean.
HUMOR...on reflection..it scares me that I would even know this stuff...must lead a real "crappy" life"!!

Read your toilet owner's manual, it describes cleaning and lubing the seals. 9 times out of 10 (or more) that's all that's needed
Also clean the moving part of the valve (Ball or blade)
If that does not do it, the next step is replacement of the seal.. Sounds hard, is easy, again the manual tells you how
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

thanks. this is what i was thinking was going on, going to happen. The forst thing I did try was some cooking spray, work it around a few times, still no go. Then i pulled the toilet and did some visual and cleaning, still no go. I guess I'll take it back and get them to fix their messup or replace the seal myself.
Side note-we had them rotate and balance the tires. those numnutz put all the tires at 50psi and theres weights all over the rims. No wonder it handled like a greased pig.
