sounds to me like a bunch of folks don't read their policies, don't know what is and isn't covered, and then whine when a non-covered item isn't covered. A limb penetrates a house roof and they patch it and you want the entire roof replaced? get real. and IIRC, there is a maximum medical amount specified in your policy, read it. if the accident was somebody else's fault, sue them.

We have home, auto, RV with State Farm. We shopped around for RV insurance. State Farm was the best by far and then they gave us a discount because we have everything with them.

Back in 1999 when we were getting ready to sell our house and go fulltime in our RV, our State Farm agent, who also owned an RV, advised us not to get our insurance with State Farm. She understood the special needs of fulltime RVing and recommended that we go with an RV insurance specialist.

We don't have SF but 8 yrs ago, our then home/5th wheel, was broadsided by a SF insured. They had no concept of FTing; just couldn't understand that this was our home and we had no place to stay; that when they finally (after great pressure) realized that they'd be paying for our temporary quarters tried to put us in a dump motel (didn't work); wanted me to stay in the tiny town where we had been hit for 5 days until they could get an adjuster (didn't happen); objected to our moving the 5ver, still hooked to our p/u, back to the factory in IN (we did); wouldn't pay us any mileage for moving rig to IN (they ended up paying comm'l moving rate - round trip); and more and more. It was a nightmare dealing with them and it was only after the intervention of our insurer, Foremost, that SF stopped playing their games.
After more than 30 years SF dropped us like a hot rock due to the fact that we are within 2 miles of the ocean. NEVER had we filed a claim!!!!!! Just policy for us poor Florida folks that might live near some water. Now since we don't have everthing with them our rates on our cars and trucks have gone up, nice huh, after more than 30 years.
Got to had it to them though, they did tell me that they really don't like insuring RVs!!

well I certainly wouldn't want to own any stock in any insurance company that did insure homes near the ocean. My friend in Brunswick, GA, intentionally bought a house 10.2 miles from the coast, since at that time 10 miles was the limit for paying a premium.

I don't know if it is the same in every state, but here they have 30 days or so to offer you a settlement. If they do not it's called "bad faith" and apparently it costs them dearly. Simply mentioning "bad faith" around here gets you a settlement offer quick. It may be a ridiculously low one, but you get one never the less.
Oh yeah, State Farm is the only insurance company I've ever taken to court.
We have State farm - home, vehickes and fiver. A few years agowhile camping we got caught in a violent hail storm. Awning destroyed, roof and side=ing damaged, even the sewer hose was punctured.
Called our agent - 'take it to a repair facility and have hem call us". Several thousnad $$ later dealer called and said all fixed - even a brand new sewer hose and you owe us the $100 deductible". End of story.
