The possum population in South Dakota has been growing the past few years. We now see alot of them on the roads dead. I grew up in eastern SD(still live here)and we NEVER saw possums when I was young. It appears they are moving north.

We had an opossum wake us up one night. He was in our bathroom.

We managed to finally get him OUTSIDE and not a single shoot was fired.

I still like them. I don't want one for a pet but I can appreciate and enjoy them without looking for a reason to kill them...

I hear that in much of the south, 'possum' and 'coon' are known as the 'Other White Meats'
