We are about to hit the open road in Feb and have heard there are cards that can get you a discount on you fuel fill ups.........so far I have found an Exxon special where you get 15 cents off a gal of gas but not diesel.
Any help will surely be appreciated

I have a Flying J card that gives a discount at the pump at time of purchase. The Flying J card is not a credit card. I have a American Express credit card that has a cash back option. The one I have does not have a yearly fee. It is a blue card. It pays more for fuel then other purchases. It does pay on all purchases. Since it isn't accepted everywhere I have a Visa card that gives credit points toward score card. Score card allows you to use the points you recieve to select items they offer. I got a Garmin GPS through them. There are a number of cards out there. I don't think a fuel only cash back is the only card you should have.
Check out this site. It might help in your selection.

be sure to check the fine print on whatever you find. When I checked out the cards I have seen recommended on other posts they all had a maxiumum amount of cash back on fuel. To add insult to injury, some of them that say for instance that they give 3% back on fuel and 1% on everything else but fuel is capped at say $100 dollars back per year, once you reach that $100 cap, you don't even get 1% back on the rest of the fuel you purchase that year.

We use the no-fee Pentagon Federal Credit Union VISA (if you qualify to belong):
https://www.penfed.org/
which rebates 5% on fuel, diesel and gas (purchased at the pump), 2% on groceries, and 1.25% on everything else. No cap on purchases.
P.S. The interest rate is not great (13% or so), but we pay off every month so that so that is not a concern.

Anyone can join the Pentagon Federal CU. All you need to do to join Pentagon Federal Credit Union is become a member of the National Military Family Association (NMFA) if you do not meet any of the other criteria for joining. Just go to the their web site and follow the directions.

You may be talking about groups like Pacific Pride, CFN, and others which are commercial fueling accounts, but accessible to the RV family. We have a CFN account and find that most times the diesel is .06 to as much as .20 a gallon less than most truck stops. We also have a Flying J CC which gives us the cash price, which is currently .09/gal less, plus gives us Flying J bucks to spend in the store or restaurant, in effect a 5% rebate.

I use a Chase Freedom card to get 3% cash back up to $6000 in purchases annually for fuel, groceries, etc. Actually it's for the top 3 qualifying catagories. I get 5% back from Discover up to $100 in purchases a month ($1200 annually). A Chase BP card has a 5% cash back card good on BP purchases only. A Chase Speedway card offers points which can be converted into fuel discounts. You can check them out on the Chase web site.

I have a Flying J card (not a credit card) and a Good Sam's card for Petro (again, not a credit card). The credit card I use most often is my Discover Card from Walmart. You get 3 cents off per gallon at Walmart (Murphy Stations) and 1 percent back on all purchases. Pay off at the end of each month...walla a savings.

I agree that Discover is good but the 5%is capped at $100.00 a month over that it drops to 1/4%. The Pen Fed card we just received is 5% as long as you pay at the pump. It is less if you pay inside, I think 1-1/2% and I don't know of any limit. We are going to stop using the Discover Card. Diana

I have been a member of the Pentagon FCU for 32 years. Its only been a year or so since they started offering the cash rewards credit card (Visa). Their card offers 5% for gas when paid for at the pump, 2% for groceries and 1.25% for everything else, no limit. This past summer on our road trip we realized over $90 in cash rebates on gas alone. Anyone can join (see my post above). Their customer service is excellent, at least it has been for me over the years. They have full service customer service available 24/7 via their 800 number since they are military oriented and have customers all over the world.
