Good, I'll see if he'll take 29.5K for it because he looks hungry and I know what they're going for.

Never hurts to lowball 'em. You can't counter with a lower offer if you start too high.

Lordy, lordy don't you guys understand that right now it is a BUYERS market. If you are cashing the seller out (not financing) then it is even a bigger BUYERS market. Heck I wouldn't offer over $25k out of the box. I've been trying to sell my little rig for about a year now, presently priced @ 50% of my starting price and told a guy last night I'd take a couply thou off that to move it. There are NO - NADA - ZIP buyers out there.

I have some land I would like to sell, slightly used but pretty high end.
Running a sale right now, 35% off.
Have to say, this has been an interesting thread.

it certainly ought to be a buyers market but i think someone forgot to tell the sellers. we've been casually shopping for almost a year now & i don't see any better deals mow than when i started. discounts on new running 30-35% in most cases. i keep hoping for a fire sale similar to what happened in the truck industry but i don't think it's going to happen. been recently shopping late model used market also. made a cash offer this afternoon of $30000 for an 07 36' doubletree without even inquiring about his asking price. said it was a repo & would make the offer to the holding bank. gave me the impression that it was a real possibility, though. msrp new was $70000+. keeping my fingers crossed. i think we're going to start seeing some real deals in the used market in the near furure.

you're right about no buyers. i randomly placed 10 fifth wheels on my "watch list" on ebay to see how many were actually selling. checking back at end of auction, i found not the first one sold. only 3 actually got a bid & all were ridiculously low.

Don't be offended by anyone's suggestions. It does PAY to do your homework, even though no one really likes it.
I calculated the NADA on our 2006 trade in twice and then estimated what I thought a custom 2009 Suite would run. I was pretty close as I had a 2008 price list to work from. We got the dealer to run #'s and then took everything home to revise wants/needs. Next weekend after some phone negotiations, we got them to give us nearly high NADA, not low and still got them to come down off the 2009 MSRP. I think we and the dealer both got a fair deal.
But don't ask me for specifics, because math wasn't my strong subject in school!
