I do not do any real off-roading or winter driving.
Need a new set of rubber and these...Michelin® LTX® A/T2....seem to fit the bill.
Anybody have comments or suggestions on alternatives?
I pull about 10,000 pounds for about 10,000 miles per year, and put on another 15,000 not towing.
thanks!

I have almost the same truck and asked a similar question earlier today. Are you replacing the stock tires on stock rims? I did a search on tirerack.com and the Michelin came up as one I am considering.

I don't think you can go wrong with Michelin. I had BFG long trails on my 2500 and they road well and wore well too for a substantial savings against Michelin

I used Michelin E1 M+S for 60K miles...worked good. Went to Michelin E1 A/S this time and believe I'll stay with them. Probably half used after 25K miles. No load issues...They are 265/75-16, not 245/75.

Replaced original tires with Michelin XPS LT 245/75 R 16 @ 35K. Got 47k on truck now and pleases with XPS.

Just put a set of LT265/75R16 on my 2006 2500hd. They ride very nice -much better than the OEM Bridgestone M773 II tire did. Un sure on how they will do on mileage at this point but reports are promising on treadlife....Traction on muddy forest roads has been very good considering the tame tread pattern. We tow a 12K TH fiver part time.

I'm doing the same research as you Freewilley. I was set on the Michelin's and then I read about the Pirelli's Scorpions. Similar Tirerack ratings but big price difference. Now I'm back to the grind...

Hi,
I put a set of AT2s on my 99 F250 this summer and love them. They are quiet and stable. They are also pricy- I went with 285/75R16 and they were close to $1100 by the time they were on and the government got theirs! It was also not what my tire guy carries (he is a Cooper guy).
I tow a 32' CargoPro aluminum carhauler (8 motorcycles) at a little over 10K GVWR, 12-14% tongue weight. FYI my truck is a single axle, 7.3 diesel, 6 speed manual. I just came back from Myrtle Beach Fall rally- 2K total miles and love these tires.

I looked around and went with the Toyo Open country H/T (highway tread), so far very happy. Have about 35K miles on them and I expect 60K plus miles. By contrast the factory bridgestones were GONE at 25K miles. Very quite, work great on dry and wet pavement, very stable.
