Going to be leaving Laughlin this weekend heading towards San Diego. We can take as little as two days or as long as 2 weeks. Looking for suggestions as to what to see on the way. Thinking of Joshua Tree National Park maybe? We drove down to Lake Havasu City already which was very nice.

We don't have to go the shortest / quickest route.

We spent a week in Joshua Tree NP in the winter of 07 and loved it! Lots of hiking and exploring. It is an unusual place. Your rig is larger and I believe there is only one campground that can accomodate your size. It is certainly worth checking out.

Palm Springs Aerial Tram

Pick one of the many RV resorts in Palm Springs, and take the toad over to the tram for the day... nice and cool on top, incredible views, but only average food, unless it's changed in the last year or so...

I would suggest taking Hwy 95 South.
It will take you thru Mojave valley, Then Lake Havisu you can camp there if you like.Visit the island and the London Bridge, a ferry boat will take you to the casino across the lake.

Continue south to Parker Dam(you can't cross the dam anymore in your rig however parking is provided for a tour of the dam),and the camping along the Colorado River.

Leaving Parker on Hwy 95 next you will see the town of Quartzite, always something there to see or do.
Then make a decision to go West on interstate 10 to palm Springs,Or keep south on Hwy 95 to Yuma.

From Yuma Hwy 8 will take you right into San Diego. Both have lots to do.

If you select the Palm Springs route there is the town of Julian (North of san Diego) it's really neat.
Or if you chose Yuma dont miss The territorial prison tour, and a side trip to Slab city with your toad (the roads are dirt).(it has a web site)

Have fun!
