The am/fm antenna on my MH has a very limited range. Stations that I pick up in my toad real clear, at times will not even get extra static in the MH. Any thoughts. I have the original roof mounted antenna on the 'rubber' roof. Thanks

Make sure the connection is seated well into the radio and check the antenna end to make sure it is clean and tight.

Ditto YC1, because it sure sounds like the radio doesn't have an antenna. Could be at either end of the cable, or the cable itself is crimped/damaged somewhere in between.

If you can get to the antenna plug on the radio, an easy test is to insert one end of a random length of wire to simulate the antenna. If reception improves, diagnosis is complete. But odds should be good that it's simply a bad or weathered connection at the existing antenna.

My antenna had hit a limb or something and had laid down on the roof of the RV put it back up and tightened the bolts on it and made all the difference in the world will blow you away now,

The proper length for an antenna for AM radio is like 75 meters long.. NOT feet, Not inches but Meters.. Thus all automotive antennas including RV antennas are, well.. Less than optimum.

When you are using "Stubby" antennas, the longer the better.. While I don't know about your rig mine has a little rubber thing up on the roof that is all but worthless on AM

Alas putting a proper roof mount AM antenna would.... Hit every bridge I went under.. So there is not much I can do there.. I could lay an antenna flat along the roof (and will but not for that band) or side mount one (Which many coach makers do)

You can also try tuning the antenna to the radio.
Set the radio to the worst station you can hear and if you have a adjustable radio, there should be a small slot with a screw on the back of the radio next to where the antenna plugs into the radio, this should tune the antenna and radio by turning one way or the other a little bit at a time.

Good Luck
