While I really like the unit in the coach - there are some drawbacks to it. The largest one, by far, is the length of time to dry the load - actually it never really does dry them.
Spent some time these past 2 days, while wife went with and enjoyed the company of her grandson (who goes away for boot camp today) and his mother (wife's daughter). I stepped aside and gave them room to enjoy each other for the time. (since they are not my biological daughter and grandson - and I am not that close to them).
Found the dryer comes with a kit that allows for a "lint trap" to be installed in the rear - if needed or desired. I looked closely at my dryer then and noted that the "lint trap" had not been installed - likely because of the close quarters.
My dryer vent hose is the metalic one and it is only a very short length of hose. Trying to figure out just how they managed to install it that way - unless the shelving above the dryer is removable and they installed it - and then installed the shelving afterwards.
My point is - there seems to be a blockage or some sort in the air flow. Without a lint trap it's a direct shot from the dryer to the outside flapper vent (maybe 12 inches).
How do you guys clean this thing out (lint) - IF there is any? If I had a smaller hand and arm I could reach inside the do it, unfortunately my hands are rather large and won't fit.
God Bless

Check your local Appliance Parts store, they have brushes and also a tool with a small brush on it to go from the outside in. ALL DRYER VENTS SHOULD BE CHECKED AND CLEANED AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR!!! This is straight from the manufactures, it not only is a fire isssue but a clean vent pipe allows the dryer to run at peak efficiency. The shorter the vent run with the fewest turns is the best way to vent.

do not have the lint trap and do not want one. As a note if you feel the air is not exhausting as it should try to have a look down the hose it may be blocked near the unit with LINT. Have seen this happen

After you confirm there is airflow from the outside vent, make sure you aren't putting too much in it.

As Roadside said. A load of towels takes 90 minutes in my 2100. That load is 2 fairly heavy bath towels, 5-6 wash cloths, 1-2 hand towels, a couple of kitchen towels and dish cloths.

First you must be absolutely sure that your Splendide does not have the lint filter installed. Most units installed during that time period DID have the filter installed. It is quite easy to miss as it is flat, fits against the unit where the exhaust ducting is installed, and only has a small lip to use as a handle to pull up and out of the slot. I know of three people who had the same problem you describe who actually had a lint filter that they didn't know of and had never removed it for cleaning leading to a HUGE lint build-up and poor drying results.
If, indeed, you do not have a lint filter, you most likely still have a lint blockage. Be sure the outside vent is clear and flaps (if there are any) are able to move freely.
We have, in the past, removed the outside vent mechanism to allow us to reach inside to remove amazing amounts of built-up lint for even better drying performance.
Recently we became aware of another method of thoroughly removing lint using a leaf blower. Take a look at this recent post of ours describing our success using a leaf blower as another reader suggested to clean out our ducting:
Leaf Blower to Clean Out Splendide Unit
Your Splendide should be able to dry items thoroughly.
Hope this helps.

I had a similar problem with our Splendide 2000 - that it wouldn't dry or took forever. It turned out to be the water filter in the bottom right corner was plugged and not allowing all the rinse water to be removed. After cleaning the filter it works great! Just a thought. Mine also does not have a lint filter installed.

Tons of great thoughts and suggestions.
No - I am "not" absolutely sure it does not have the lint filter installed - but was not able to see it there. I cannot reach over the top of my unit as not enough space to do so.
On the water filter in bottom right side --- that's on my list.
Matter of fact - one of the next things I do is tackle this one - want the wife happy you know.

Our splendide is installed below a half height closet. In the floor of that closet is an access hole for the lint filter and water connections. The filter is a 4" wide flat 1" deep gizmo that does not look like a filter. It has a grab handle on the rear facing side to pull up and remove the filter.
I know this because after six years of ownership, I just realized it had such a filter. Fortunately, we do not often use the washer/dryer.

Ours works great. Actually it really didn't matter to us one way or the other when we purchased the coach. Nor did I think the fridge/freeze slideout in the basement made much of a difference. I wouldn't be without either now. The WD does take longer than my jet Bosh in my home. But certainly does the job and meets our expectations for what it's designed to do. And ours drying time is very good. Or the DW would be complaining. And then again, when were in the coach we not much in a hurry. Now this past summer at the beach we pretty much washed our stuff, but we had a pretty big crew with us, so chose not to run the unit all day. I got up early and did a bunch of wash and drying in about an hour using several washers and dryers in the camp facility. But we're ok with ours. And there will be one in the next rig, unless I loose it all in the stock market.. lol lol
