Traveling next week in fifth wheel and need a campsite along I-20 near Jackson, Mississippi (remember how we used to spell that in grade school?!). Thanks for your info!

I spelled Mississippi exactly the same in grade school as I do now. Has it changed? Meridian KOA is as close as I can get you to Jackson.

Just west of Jackson on I-20 at exit 36 (Springdale Rd.) is Springdale RV park. It is close to the interstate.

I sometime still spell Mississipi that way.

Safe Travels.

In Jackson, turn north on I 55. Go a few miles and turn
right/east on Lakeshore Drive. You will, within a few
blocks, come to LeFleur State Park......FINE place.
This is almost IN downtown Jackson, but is totally wooded,
quiet.
P M me for details.......

I second Roosevelt State park (Morton MS.) It was very nice.

We still sing the M-I-SS I-SS I-PP I phrase off and on in our house. Our kids will never spell it incorrectly

We've stayed at Lafleurs Bluff State Park in Jackson, and enjoyed it. It's convenient to things, yet fairly quiet. About the only downside is the dusty road through the CG. You can find some pix from our visit here.

Have a great trip.

I used to live near Jackson, now I spell it Miss'ugh'ssippi. To the OP, DON'T STOP near Jackson. Take Bumpy's advice and go to Meridian or someplace away from Jackson.
