I see what you mean. I think buying RCA cables that long would be pricey and a pain to wire up.
"Portscanner", I know what you mean about the wood dust...I have to go over everything with a vacuum after every trip coz that stuff keeps covering everything.
Thought I'd chime in. Don't ever buy audio/video gear from big brick and mortar stores. Check out monoprice.com. They are the BEST for anything related to audio/video. Cheapest prices too. I had to redo my A/V setup in my trailer and bought all wiring from them. Cost a fraction of the cost and I got in next day.
(nope, don't work for them, just enjoy their cheap prices!)

RCA cables are cheap if you dont buy the Monster brand and know where to shop. I get 25 footers for around $9. I ran a set from the living room to the stereo and from the bedroom to the stereo. Just need a new head unit to get them hooked up.
I had the front bed room speakers, outside, and main speakers all switched. the stero shop also tied my tv into the stereo. they did a great job and was done when promised and very clean install.
