Whatever You end up doing Don't Ever use the Vacuum Exhaust or an Oily Compressor to Blow Out the Lines! As far as pressure goes a Bicycle Pump or one of those Inflator Pumps for Air beds, Water toys etc. Has enough pressure to displace the water !

You certainly wouldn't want to drink the antifreeze but it won't take much to fill the low points!

If you are having trouble in the spring with the lingering presence of antifreeze then it is probably your technique. DO NOT get any antifreeze in your hot water tank as it will cause the lingering experience you are having. In the spring, leave the hot water tank in BYPASS until after you have cleared all HOT and COLD water pipes/faucets of antifreeze using fresh water.

I made up a fitting using a air line quick connect and a brass hose adapter.

I set my oil-less compressor at about 45 PSI and start at the farthest faucet. Once the water is blown out, I out a couple gallons of RV antifreeze in the fresh tank and turn on the pump. Once the antifreeze starts coming out, I blow out the lines again, saving the antifreeze.

I 'lose' about 2 quarts a year into the assorted drains and P-traps. I usually buy my antifreeze in the late winter or early spring when it goes on sale.

It's worked for me for 5 plus years.

It's interesting how most of the anti-freeze crowd refers to "the right way" or blowing out as "half a-sed". It looks to me as there are two viable ways to accomplish winterizing and when done properly both are equally effective at protecting the system. Pick one, it is not a choice between right and wrong.

Quite correct! It might be interesting to note that those who do not use anti-freeze would probably start using it if they ever had a problem - we just don't! But as you point out - pick one and get 'er done!

On my previous Fleetwoods I simply emptied the water tanks, drained at the low point valves at the couple places provided and put the pink stuff in the drain traps. I never had a problem with either from 1989 to 2004.

I used that pink******once ,it took me 2 days of flushing the water tank & lines to get the taste out.
what we do ,i drain the water heater, turn on the water pump , open faucets 1 at a time till all that comes out is air.
put the rv pink stuff in the P traps
we have been doing it this way for years
