We only have one receiver in our house, when we travel I take the one out of the house and put it in the RV, if you look at the last post before yours you will see how we got our dish to hook the receiver up to. It's a snap!!!

Keep in mind that using the receiver from the house will limit you to the "local stations" in the area of your house. Once outside of the area you will no longer receive the local network stations. Check with DirecTV (or DISH) about Distant Network Services (DNS) under which, with a certification from you, you can receive NYC and/or LA network stations.

We love the Digital quality, commercial free XM radio that comes with any Direct TV subscription.Especially,Spa(camping music?)Ch.856 and Classic Vinyl Ch. 833.I found aiming the Direct TV satellite dish MUCH easier than the hyper-sensitive Dish Network dish that has 2 satellites just a few degrees from each other.I would invariably lock on the wrong one over and over again.I mount the dish mast on a 1" thick 2'by 2' piece of plywood I just simply set on the ground somewhere and use wing nuts to secure mast.I found my mast/dish/transponder on Craig's list for $15.Go to Craig's list, click on electronics for sale,in search feature on top of electronics page enter "satellite TV".Tons of stuff CHEAP CHEAP!!.

Rant!We go camping to escape the City and enjoy the tranquility of the woods.Buy some headphones!!,we don't want to hear your TV,Boom box or wherever that racket is coming from. Please, show some consideration for your neighbors.
