Just so you know, this post will probably be deleted because it violates the rules, selling is only allowed in the classifieds.

I might consider selling my fully road ready and suspension modded 93 Tiger XL for $15.5k, with new(er) chevy factory rebuilt engine and new trans, all suspension mods (new metal leaf springs, load range D tires, front steering and suspension parts (tie rod ends, ball joints etc)

Right now it has a rear mounted Onan 2.8 but roof air removed and fantastic fan installed - still have toe roof air and will include for asking price.

The below is copied from the Tiger owner's group on Yahoo. I hate to pass this on, but want to be sure all the Tiger owners and wannabe's here get the word. I know a lot of us met Dave Rowe, and like him. I consider him more of a friend than just someone I had done business with. Since he handled sales as well as managing production and the rest of the business, a lot of us have met him.

"To our valued Tiger Motorhome Owners,

We wish to inform you that our good friend and Tiger founder Dave Rowe was critically injured in a small plane accident yesterday afternoon. Dave was to be on his way to Colorado today to start his retirement, but decided to take one last spin in his ultralight aircraft before packing it up and leaving town. His daughter was in town to help him with the drive back to Colorado and was also involved in the accident. Shortly after takeoff, the ultralight lost altitude and crashed into the woods. Dave's daughter suffered a severe leg break, but is otherwise fine. Dave, on the other hand, has extensive injuries both to limbs and internal organs. He has undergone surgery and is scheduled for more today as they attempt to stabilize him. We will not know the extent of his injuries for some time.

We here at Provan are deeply concerned and want to convey this development to the broader community of Tiger owners. Please keep Dave and his family in your prayers and thoughts. We continue with business as usual (to the extent that is possible), here at Provan, knowing that we have Mr. Rowe's legacy to attend to. We will keep you posted of further developments.

Thanks to Jerry Grant for conveying this message to you.

Regards,

Mark Guild
Owner - Provan Industries, LLC"

Jim

Handbasket - Thank you for sharing the information on Dave's untimely accident. We wish him a speedy recovery.

I have always had a yearning for a Tiger as you might know; we were very close to purchasing a Tiger GT in Oklahoma last June. The deal breaker was the drivers seat was so padded and tall that I could not sit behind the steering wheel. I was going to call Dave to learn how to connect the coach battery. We procrastinated on how to modify the seat, learned how to turn on the coach battery, and then the unit was sold to some nice lady in California.

I know the topic of this thread is the "CX", but had to mention that last week-end an "XL" was in the parking lot at the Qwest Center for the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting. It had Colorado plates. Wish I would have had my camera to share a picture.

UPF7flyer...

If you are still wanting to see a Tiger, let me know. I'm planning to be in SW WA/NW OR in the coming weeks. My exact schedule is not known just yet, but maybe we can find a way to let you see mine.

Me and Gretchen are leaving from Sonoma County (NorCal) on our 1 month honeymoon june 29 - remains to be decided if we head straight north for Banff, Alberta, or head east to Monument Valley first.

We will be traveling in our Tiger XL, carrying road bicycles (hers is a Specialized Allez with touring triple, mine is an Airnimal Chameleon ) plus my racing inline speed skates, hiking shoes, water pistols, oversize fly swatters .

UPFlyer, I'm about to leave for WA, contact me privately if you do wanna see my Tiger. I sent you a private message with my email. I won't be watching the forum.

Jonny & Gretchen, maybe I'll see you as you drive through southern WA along I-5 on your way north. Either way, have a great trip!

If any other Tiger folks are out there along the way, honk or wave or stop to say hello!

Not much action on this thread lately. Perhaps we've all been out enjoying our Tigers? I know I have. I just returned today from 29 days exploring New Mexico and northern Arizona, about 4400 miles. I called it a four-week Sunday drive. Lots of grades, twisty roads, dirt, and adventures. Can't imagine trying to do this trip in anything larger than the Tiger. Had a great time!

Rocky and I are back from our trip to OR/WA. Our Tiger was awesome, of course. It's nice to have your own place when visiting relatives, and being able to park anywhere you want along the way. Rocky enjoyed having his freedom to perch in any window, watching all the wildlife he could handle. I had him crated into the passenger seat, high enough to watch out the windows as we traveled. He was a great travel companion!

Mark, be aware... MANY people asked me about the Tiger along the way, about half even looking inside. Most were amazed at how roomy such a small motorhome could be. I must have given out at least 30 of the info cards (from the yahoo forum files). My guess is, you might have several people call/write for more information!

I've been looking into the Tiger CX lately - from the Tiger website it looks like the fridge is a 2 way fridge, operating either on 120v AC (shore power) or 12v DC (battery power). Is this right, the fridge doesn't operate on propane? If so, then how do you boondock for say 3 days? Wouldn't the frige run down the batteries in say, 2 or 3 hours? Running a generator wouldn't seem to be an option, because you'd have to run it so much.
