Hi, Mike. Canadians here. We're at Totonaka RV Park in San Carlos, Sonora. Of the 120ish spaces, I think perhaps 1/4 to 1/3 are occupied. There seem to be more Canadians than Americans here this year, though the ratio is changing as the season progresses.
Maria (Joe's mom) says you were here a few weeks ago. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you.
What with the storms threatening from the north, we've decided to keep going south. We'll be leaving tomorrow morning for Los Mochis, Mazatlan, then somewhere in the Puerto Vallarta area. Somebody said there are lots of RV parks around Rincon de Guayabitos. I'll start counting more seriously as we head south.
Las Jaibas charged us $32 USA dollars per day for the few days we were there in November. Last year the extra days after our month ran out were a reasonable +/- $18 USA. $32 USA = $420 Pesos per day at today's rate, the most we have ever paid anywhere in Mexico. It is his park and he can charge whatever he wants but I doubt if he will fill all those nice new spaces at that rate.
Also, as rude as it is for us to try to pay for items in Mexico (or any other country except the USA) with US dollars, it is equally as rude for a Mexican establishment to charge in US Dollars. Just my humble opinion. We are, after all, in Mexico.

You can click on the Edit link that is in the upper-right portion of every one of your posts and make changes. In this case, I've removed the quote tags for the post.

Hate to be Picky Linda, but yesterday there were 6 Canadian, 1 German, 1 American and 2 Mexican rigs -- (Jorge and Lulu are back. See? move out of the neighbourhood you loose touch! )
Roca Azul RV Park, in Jocopetec, Jalisco, on lake Chapala. We counted today:
1 family of Mexican in a Motorhome (5 people, week-end only)
2 families of American (NM and CA) (4 people)
3 families of Canadian (BC and ON) (6 people)
BTW, for those who want a change from the hot days at the tail end of the winter season, this park is worth the trip. Very quiet, two beautiful pools (one is hot spring pool), nice amenities, like pool room.
There are a number of day trips around worth spending a few days here and the water is CLEAN. Many birds on the lake and the sunrise on the lake is gorgeous.
Reporting from Paa Mul in the Yucatan.
Most of the 190 spaces are taken up with permanent palapas, but of the "transients", and those who drive or pull an RV down to here, we presently have 38 Canadian, and 10 US. There were two rigs with Mexican couples here for a week and have just left.
Many of the transients come down for the winter, but I know some are moving on after a few days or weeks.
There are perhaps a dozen empty spaces at the moment.
