Ever since Putin came into power, Russia has been trying to re-establish itself as a world power. Actually, I think predicting the breakup of the U.S. is just an attempt to strengthen the appearance of Russia by downplaying that of the U.S. If you read the article, you'll see that this guy is an old KGB buddy of Putin's, and probably has the same mindset. I think it's just wishful thinking on their part.

It just shows how little they understand us. I can't very well understand them either.

Not gonna happen that way. The Republic of Texas is more likely to invite OK, KS, NE, UT, AZ, MT, ID, and maybe LA & AR to join us.

Minnesota would likely join with New York & Massachusetts, instead of Canada.

His grouping of states clearly shows how little he understands about the US.

Im with Dr. Michigan on this one. Putin has always wanted to flex since coming into power, and I think he will come back into power as well. Russia has a long history of this kind of rhetoric.

I heard about the prediction several weeks ago on NPR I didn't pay much attention to it.

Our next Civil War will be sponsored by Miller Lite and broadcast 24/7 on CNN.

All laughing aside, I doubt this will ever happen but I've always thought we'd be a third world joke by 2030 and it seems I might not be to far off. Will modern people revolt? Hard to say but something has to give, there is way to
much greed and dirty politicians and its only getting worse. I can see some
of this taking place but not to the extent that the article goes into. I can't
see Russia getting Alaska and why would Texas be controlled by Mexico? They can't even deal with their own problems right now. I can, in time seeing the states pull from the union though and I'm not sure I want to be around when
that happens.
