I finally took the plunge and got Microsoft Streets and Trips.
I have one question. It says that my GPS Antenna needs to be connected to COM5. How do I determine which of my USB ports is COM5?

God Bless!

sounds like you need to re-install the drivers that let the GPS talk to the software..... that'll allow the plug and play functions.

Ventrman, I installed MS&T on my laptop to use in the tow vehicle. I installed the program and plugged in the antenna into 1 of the 2 USB ports and it took right off. I had the 2006 version and upgraded to the 2008 version which was quite a bit better on having roads where they actually are. I like it because it gives me a larger screen area to look at than the smaller GPS units. Since I take a saptop with me in the 5er it seemed that was the right choice rather than buying another electronic unit. I hve seen the upgrades to MS&T for $39 to upgrade to the latest version out. Good Luck and Happy Camping

My experience was that the first time I installed Streets & Trips with the GPS receiver plugged in the USB port prior to installation. This did not work. I uninstalled and installed it again without the receiver plugged in. Then I plugged in the receiver to one of the USB ports ( I was in a place where a single was available - not in the house). Then I had to use the configure GPS button and after a short time a menu came up showing which port was occupied by the receiver and I highlighted it and I believe said OK. I now always use the same port and have no problem but once in a while I need to configure the GPS again.
Hope this helps.
