I will certainly second that. I weonder who makes these bad decisions, and THEN wants us, the taxpayer, to bail them out.

The other real advantage is it's light weight. I hate to sell it but am going back to work and will be out of the "long trip" RV world for a few years and getting a company car. I plan to get another one when I retire again.
I am curious as to how a "circuit breaker" eleminates pulling a fuse. A switch perhaps???

That's because it is not really a Jeep but a 3 model platform that looks ugly in all badges!
in my mind (and I've owned 3 Jeeps now). A true Jeep is something that is dead simple, no frills, doesn't mind abuse and is very inexpensive due to the no toys. THEN we add $$$$$$ to the add ons like lifts etc to make up for the initial savings

If you don't mind a manual tranny, the Subarus are great towables.
They have AWD for versatility, relatively lightweight, relatively reliable, simple set-up ...no fuses to pull, no disconnects or lube pumps, no mileage registered, no speed restrictions, no time restrictions.

I must echo everything Mr.Mark posted.....
We have an 08 Monaco Dynasty 43ft pulling an 08 Honda CR-V with a M&G braking system. The tow bar is a Roadmaster All Terrain. We are super happy with everything.
We looked at and considered many toads. It came down to the Saturn Vue and the Honda CR-V. Both excellent choices. We chose the Honda because it is a little lighter (doesn't push so hard good down steep grades) and it gets a little better milege (20 to 22 in town and around 28 out on the road). On our 08 all we do is run it through its gears every 8 hours. We pull it with the trans in "N". No fuses to pull or switches to flip.
We talked to several people who were pulling the CR-Vs and to a person they all were very happy.
We are not off-roaders so that didn't enter into it. You have to take your driving and viewing style into your decision also.
Good luck!

I agree! I've often pondered getting a MINI to tow. Again, it has to be a manual and you won't find it listed in the Motorhome Magazine list because some manufacturers refuse to endorse their products for towing even though they can be towed. Motorhome Magazine only lists those vehicles that are endorsed by the manufacturer for towing.
And staying with the Subaru line of thought I mentioned in my previous post, if you looking for fun, sportiness, AWD, and simplicity of towing, the WRX is towable and endorsed for it by its manufacturer.

Geez, how's that for timing...just got my FMCA Mag and guess what? Yep, it's the 2009 toad issue.
BTW, the fust thing isn't a deal breaker I just wanted to know what people are towing and what they might have to do to make things work.
Currently on my list is Subaru, Honda and Jeep. Really starting to shy away from the jeep due to several issues. I am alittle concerned about power in the 4 and 6 cylinder motors. Guess I'll have to drive them and see how it goes ... Pun intended
We are all good at something.....
I just happen to be a good bad example.
Occasionally in error but never in doubt.

Yeah, the reason I like my Outback is that it's so simple with no restrictions. Personally, I don't want a lot of "stuff" to do in preparation to tow. There's already enough to worry about hooking the towbar and supplemental braking. I don't want to pull fuses or even having to remember pulling the driveshaft-disconnect lever, etc.

As w Scirocco22, we have an 2008 Outback too. Had a Jeep Wrangler, wanted to be able to continue to go anywhere when we arrived at our destination, but in comfort & safety (check out their ratings vs all others). Love it compared to the Jeep. Can't even see the tow system hidden in the grill area.
