The Ohio Rally group will be staying at Benner's Meadow Run Campground in the heart of Ohiopyle State Park in Southwestern PA.
We are planning a day trip to the famous Kennywood Amusement Park.
***Reservations must be made by Feb 3. They will only hold the blocked # of sites till then***
***And they will only guarantee the rate listed below until then***
I have blocked sites #2-12 and #222-235.
I recommend reserving a site from 2-12 1st.
Benner's Phone#724-329-4097. Ask for Sarah or Mary Lou and tell her your calling for the Ohio Rally under my name-R Wald. Their office is only open Tues, Weds & Thurs; 10-4 pm. They will be away on business Jan 28-31. If you wait till then to call, please leave a message and they will still honor the discounted rate when they call you back in Feb.
This is a Thursday - Sunday Rally. I have worked it out that the cost is $114.35 for 3 nights. (15% discount) They will charge you for 1/2 your stay ($58.68) but should you need to cancel...Refund policy-cancel 21 days prior and you will be refunded all but $13.00.
We are scheduling a day trip to Kennywood Park on Friday including an olde fashion picnic at the park. (hotdogs, hamburger, baked beans, pasta salad. The usual picnic food)
Saturday will be a free day to explore. And the usual Potluck feast at the end of the day.
If anyone is interested in white water rafting, let me know & I'll arrange for a group rate. There is rafting for beginners. Bike rentals are available. I highly recommend the Allegheny Trail if you're not a rafter.
Please e-mail or post your site # here along with the # of adults & children going to Kennywood.
Thanks. Red & Fred

What a beautiful area. We will be staying at the state park campground for a long weekend over the 4th of July. I would also suggest visiting Fallingwater while you are there. Make reservations if you want to make sure you get into the house it is one of the most popular attractions in the area. Even if you roll your eyes at the idea of touring a "house" I'll bet you will love it.
Another site I would recommend is Laurel Caverns. The tour of this cave is great. Unlike a lot of caverns, this one is in a fairly natural state with sandy walkways, a few tight squeezes etc. It is a bit steep in places but most folks won't have problems. Lots of fun. Great on a rainy day. Kids will LOVE it.
Have fun.

Thanks for pointing that out Soyboy. I grew up there and sometime I forget all there is to do. I've been to the caverns but never Fallingwaters. He's right folks about Fallingwater. Be sure to call ahead and make your reservations to see Fallingwater.
We made reservations some time back, but I forget where we are! I'll get back to you on this. We are definately up for the white water rafting. There will probably be 4 of us.
