Hey guys, it's only $150 at CW. Better to buy one made for the job than risk burning up a $5000 generator. I use suction cups to keep mine uprite. Drill holes in my coach, NEVER HAPPEN.

Question, How are you going to hold it up?
To answer your question.. On my onan 5500, even after many hours of operation I am able to hold the pipe in my hands
I have pulled it with the generator running
I use pliars to pull the locking pin
Then I kick the metal pipe off the exhaust (kick gently please
But I can hold the black pipe in my hand
Note that the standard Gen-Turi breaks down into 3 pipes about 3 feet each so it fits in a fairly small compartment.
I am going to mount a removable flagpole on the rail on my roof. i would attach the dryer hose to that with some sort of hanger/ The whole point is that it would be flexible and light.. so no suction cups or mounting hardware on the side of the rig... and it would collapse down to nothing.
I am really just wondering if it is feasable.

I read once in a RV magazine that Carbon Monoxide sinks, and that if there is no wind to carry it, it would just sink back down and get into the Motor Home. Probably not a good idea to mess with the pipe at all! This is what one of the so called experts said. Just wanted to pass this on.

Could this Gen-Turi or home built be used for the exhaust from my Hyro-Hot? That's the one we can't run when next door neighbor is right there. Would like to get that diesel fume up and hopefully away.

" If you are in really tight quarters or the wind is blowing tit back at you may want to consider the Camco Genturi, which is a handy little exhaust stack kit that assembles to raise the exhaust to over the roof line when parked. While originally designed for generator exhausts, it has proven well in hydronic heat because any noise and smell are exhausted up high where it can easily dissipate if you are in tight quarters."

Two comments.
First.. If you don't have room to store the Gen-Turi. Where you gonna put the flag pole?
Second.. As to the carbon Monoxide sinks... I heard that one too
The exhaust gas is hot, well over 200 degrees, now when it enters the stand pipe (3" pipe) on the Genturi it is cooled some by the mixing with air but it is still very very very warm.
In an absolutly still room with no heat source CO will tend to collect near the floor. However with no heat source you won't have CO. If there is any movement of air it will mix it (They are very close specific gravity wise)
And with the generator running the gas will continue up and away It will not be sucked back into the rig, it will not sink back into the rig, I have tested it with a run of over 24 hours and narry a peep from the CO detector. (Without the Genturi it takes 2 hours to go off, note that the Generator is UNDER the rig so it's got to go UP to get to the detector)
Now... of course I'm sure some wise type will say "What happens when you shut the generator off and the CO in the stack no longer has a heat source?" or words to that effect.
Answer, Well if it gets clod enough it will indeed sink.. Down BELOW the rig to where the entrance of the 3" pipe is.
So you are safe either way WITH the Gen-Turi. And may well be dead without it

Why not just attach it to your rear ladder when not in use ? You can use Bungie Cord(providing the pipe is not hot), or two simple hose clamps, problem solved, OK. Good Luck,

Oh, I have plenty of room to store the full size genturi. Mainly I am looking for an easier and lighter solution. But still, no one has answered if they think dryer hose will perform adequately...lol

Here is a link to a thread on another forum that describes building a Genturi knock off for $30.
