Sounds like you know how to plan a dream. I'm 55, 56 in a month and solo fulltimer. After I kicked prostate cancer two years ago and went through a divorce after 20 years and two daughters I knew what I was going to do. I don't move around much because I want to stay close to my 16 year old. I do take a few month long trips thought the year but stay in one place two or three months at a time. Everything will workout for you too.

I'm jealous and so looking forward to travelling when we want. Will retire in a couple of years after a thirty plus year career in Law Enforcement. We camp and boat as much as we can now and both of us look forward to our life revolving around our fifth wheel and fish&ski boat. Reading all of your posts make me wish the time was already here.

I am a FULTIMER as well! I started in 2001 at 42 yrs of age! I have NO regrets! My health was prohibitting me from upkeep maintenance on my house and also interfering with my maintenance mechanic career I had. Since then I qualified for Social Security Disability and do the SNOWBIRD thing! My parents live in Central New York so I'm up there, (still living in my RV while at their house on a camplot I made there for myself) and then head South to Georgia where I bought a DEEDED CAMP LOT for the winter! I LOVE IT!!! GOOD FOR YOU!

Been traveling since fall 2007. Just switched from the boat to a 5er. Do it and do it now!!
Always been impressed with the home schooled kids we've met.
Only downside (and it's minor), is if you hang out with other full timers, you wind up haning out with your parents/grand parents. No one has ever been rude or unkind, just nice to hang out with people your own age once in a while.

There are some young ones out there, but not many. I'm 33 and my wife is 35 we are 1.5 years into full timing and love it. The youngest couple we have met are in their late 40's thus far.

I think some hang out in the wrong places. I know hundreds of fulltimers that have young children, middle school children and high school children. And many that are just married and have no children YET. There are thousands upon thousands of young fulltimers. However, you dont find many in high end resorts.

We are 45 and 44 and are starting the process of going full time. The house goes on the market after the first of the year and once it sells, full time here we come. We will continue to work as we are not able to retire but we will live in our rig. We love the life style and workamping and decided that we were not going to wait till we were older to enjoy life. We have seen to many people wait and then never get to do the things they had planned.
