A guy on another forum I frequent bought a new 2008 Revolution for 149K plus tax.
It sounds like just the kind of deal the OP was referring to.

Interesting.

Per this then that was close to 50% off MSRP.

If you get 50% off take a look at it. The coach manufacturer only warranties the box that they build. Most of the stuff in a rig thats going to break is warrantied by the manufacturer of the item. And they don't care where you bought the rig. Chassis, engine, tv, reefer, stove, whatever. And a lot of times these warranties are better then you get from the dealer. A lot of folks don't take advantage of this because the they don't read all of the literatue that comes with the rig.

X2 If only they would read the owner books. the savings is worth purchasing the coach for 50% off .

I agree.

It's hard to believe, but the guy posts a lot on our forum, so I take him at his word.

During 2009-2010 if what DC is doing does not help and things are actually worse the banks/finance companies who own together 10's of thousands of new MH's dump as they most likely will do people buying over the next 6 months may be crying the blues over the high prices they are paying now.

When owners of like new half million MH's can not find buyers at $100K while we are still in the good times of possible very bad times it is telling.

If only 25% of those with consumer debt today become debt free by force the results will not be pretty. If 75% of financed toys owned today changes hands in the next few years that would greatly limit ANY new toy sales in a huge way I expect.

Considering how cheap they are you could get an extended warranty and be a lot of money ahead. My 4 year ex warranty cost $900 per year. The engine, tranny and chassis warranty would still be good.

Who do you have your extended warranty with? My CSP with Good Sam is costing me almost $1800/year. The first 4 years was only about that much for all 4 years, but considering the chassis itself has 3 years, engine 3 years and tranny 5 years guess they don't have much liability for that first few years. But after that they really sock it to you.

I will bet he purchased a 4 year at $3600== $900 per year. Good Sam charges a LOT more for 1 year contracts which I assume you have and are purchasing. 1 year contracts are NOT a good deal. Doug

Another example would be Rolex watches. Rolex of America holds distribution rights in this Country for Rolex. You can purchase a new Rolex here that was imported outside their distribution network as a "Grey" market product. Rolex will not honor the warranty and in fact will not even work on them at their official repair centers.

My father bought me a Rolex for HS graduation (a long time ago) while in the UAE. I had the thing serviced a dozen times over the years without any issues about where it was purchased.

If the watch is sold to a retail buyer in the Country it was shipped to, that is not a problem regardless of the Country of origin of the buyer. The problem is when the watch is shipped to a Country and subsequently wholesaled to a dealer in another Country and then sold to a retail buyer. That makes it a " Grey Market" sale.

Service is available in the U.S. for grey market watches in most every major city. Warranty work and service is not available at the official Rolex service centers.

5 pages later it still sounds like Monaco is using it as an excuse to skip out on the warranty.

...you can add Nikon to that list also.

There are large Nikon Dealers that have both USA and "Grey" Lenses and they clearly tell you...you are on your own with regard to warranty on the grey lenses.

Canon camera's also. You buy a grey market Canon and you have to ship it back to JAPAN for warranty work.

Not just cameras. Back in the spring/summer when the CDN$ was trading higher then the USD$ Canadians were cross boarder shopping for new cars. Toyota, Honda etc.. stopped honouring warrenties for US bought cars that were purchased in such a way even though they were off the same assembly line as the cars sold in Canada. Simply an effort to protect the local dealers/market.
