Butch50,
Even though I have a 36 tire receiver, my PP only toggles to those connected to a transmitter.
However mine being 4 years could be different than the newer models.

Yea, I know Jeff that they only trigger the ones with sensors on them but doesn't the monitor still show all of the tire locations? On my monitor the only tire locations are the ones with sensors as I customize it to show those locations.
Here is a picture of the Doran 360 RV and if you look at the bottom of the page it shows how the tire locations are in the display. So I can add or subtract the number of tires shown on the display. I can show from 1 tire to 36 in the display. Does PP allow the same thing? I'm asking not to be argumentive just for my inf.
Gobbler,
Yes the sensors can be set on the Doran 360Rv to whatever pressure you want also. Also you have a Drop and Hook feature in it so if you drop off your fiver you can set the monitor not to look for the 5er/TT anymore. The display at this time does not show a trailer. Then when you pick the trailer back up you punch a button to hook the trailer and now it is shown in th display again with the truck and trailer.
Thanks
Butch

Butch50,
Yes the monitor does show all of the possible tire locations with an unlit led. However, only those with sensors will actually illuminate the led to indicate its's active. In addition, when monitoring the pressure from sensor-to-sensor while driving, you don't have to scroll through the non active positions. Once again just like your unit, PP only displays the active tire sensors.
Please enjoy your Doran, but IMO understand the benefits you are receiving (if any) is of little value when compare to the purpose of what the units actually provide.

I just bought the Hopkins Tire Pressure Monitoring System on
Wednesday 2-11-09. And (tried) installing it Friday morning 2-13-09. Save your money and do not buy this system
I spent $600, the basic system and 3 sets of sensors total 12.
All my 8 tires on motorhome had 80 psi in them, the system read
60-82psi on 7 tires and would not read 1.
I then had to start all over(per tech dept)
The tech dept stated they have been having simular issues out there.
I started all over again all 8 sensors worked but again varied from 60-82psi.
Then after 5 min. one went dead.
Hopkins told me to ship the dead sensor back at my expense, then they will check it out and then send me another one(may be).
I had a better suggestion, just return everything and get my $600 back. And look into buying a better proven product.
As I`m getting older(retired now)and I purchase something new and costly and it is defective out of the box.
When they tell me to ship it back, at my expense, then this tells me they are not confident with their own products.
And will not purchase any of their products again.
Just a heads up for everyone Costco.com sells the PressurePro.
I feel better buying it from Costco especially with costco`s return policy,if which I hope I don`t have a defective product like I did with the Hopkins.
After reading all the possitive results on the PressurePro I feel good about my choice.

Looks like you have seen all of the options.
Hopkins - new kid on the block. Monitors pressure & temp. Least expensive of all systems. Originally had distribution problems, but appears that is no longer the case. I remember the big debates over this system about delivery, but there was very little feedback about quality (maybe because at the time no one could get one). The few that did give an operational report expressed satisfaction. I don't see tons of actual owners bad mouthing the product here. (Disclaimer: I don't read every post in every thread on this forum)
The distribution problem seems to be overcome, now that CW is on board. Perhaps more actual owners can report on these units.
Presure Pro - been around the longest. Monitors pressure & temp. Seems to be the fav for RVers. Maybe becasue it was the only selection for a long time. Probably most expensive of the three options that I know of.
Doran - used to sell rebranded Pressure Pro systems. Looks like they now manufacture their own unit. Monitors pressure only. Price was at one time comparable to Pressure Pro (same unit). Maybe now it has come down now that they build appear to build their own unit.
I seem to remember that one of them monkeyed with the idea of making a sensor that allowed you to replace the batteries in the field. But I see now all of them require you to return the sensors to the factory for batteries or just buy new ones.
If I was back in the market to purchase I would wait until I get some feedback from actual owners of the Hopkins system, rather then depending on hearsay from non-owners.
Also I would go to each website and download the brochures or tech data and compare them sise by side. This would help answer some questions like sensor wieghts, antenna range and placment, looks and style.
These are only my observations. I looked into getting a system a few times, but after checking my tire pressures on a regular basis, I don't find the fluctions that others have experienced that would justify the purchase.
I know that statement may generate a flurry of posts about loss of pressure while driving, safety of my family, yada, yada, yada, but like those of you that did purchase a system, its my selection and is not relevent to the original post.

If you drive a dually and pull a fiver you have 10 tires to monitor (plus the spare if you choose). Here is a summary of the costs for 10 tire systems.
$500 - Truck System Tech.
$540 - Hopkins from Camping World
$600 - Hopkins from Northern Tool
$700 - Doran Mfg.

Thanks for this information D&M. I hope some Hopkins users will have some input here.
Thanks for the price comparisons, M-R.

I think the long thread last year about distribution problems and charging without delivering was not with Hopkins, but with Saf-Tee. New distributor is TST and has been getting good reports.
I do not have a Pressure Pro, but I do not think it measures temperature.
