We love ours and now have over 20K on it. How long is the bed, in others words, how big is the fuel tank? The two are directly related. Towing MPG should be about 12 or so. About 20 on the open road with no trailer, and 14 or 15 around town, depending the the number of starts and stops. Takes a while to get warm from a cold start. Hope this helps.

My new 2008 Chevy 2500HD D/A now has 1023 miles. I'm past the break-in period and can finally tow with it. I have averaged 13.6 mpg around town. It's 10 miles to work every day and I go in early (5:30) so I get it up to speed and keep it there long enough for it to warm up. I haven't had it go into REGEN yet! Let us see some pictures and keep us posted on your mileage. BTW does D/A mean Duramax/Allison or Dan/Allison for you??

Lord I envy you. I really want a 2500 diesel sooooooo bad.

But none of the dealers want to give me what my 05 6liter gasser is worth. They are willing to give me a great mark down on the new truck, but only about 1/2 of what the gasser is worth.

"The dealer giveth and the dealer taketh away."

Frustrated and disappointed.

Are you sure? Do you have an Edge programmer or anything to tell you when you go into regen, or are you just watching your MPG? I have been reading that these LMM engines go into Regen about every 300-400 miles. You should have had about 3 regen cycles by now.

Now I am actually not sure. I "thought" that when it went into REGEN that you would get a message and have to take it to the highway to run it hot for 20 minutes??? Was I wrong??? What do you get as an indication that it is in REGEN??
