Why do I just know this is going to be an expensive brand....LOL
It is ... if you pay retail. Check out Gib's RV for some great prices. You can call them direct for things they don't list on the eBay page.

Beddows wrote: As far as the hitch is concerned, the best one on the market is the Torklift Super hitch. Depending on what you are towing you might get away with a regular hitch extender with a 9.6, but if you want stability & hitch capacity without worry, then the TL superhitch is the way to go. It will give you at least 750 lbs of tongue weight capacity.
I had one installed on my way down to Mexico for my new Cargo trailer. (I limped to Seattle with an 18 inch extender). I concur with Brad, IMO TL superhitch is the only way to go.
Wait a minute, wait a minute, did I read that right? Paul concurs with Brad? Be still my hammering heart...check the temperature in the netherworld, I think its freezing over.
Now back to your regular programming.

Yes they do. I've had three of their 2-1/2" receiver hitches; great hitch at a reasonable price.
But, if someone is towing a live load (horses) to which they have some emotional attachment on a 24" extension, they want the strongest hitch they can get >> Torklift Superhitch.

while the spend more money, get a better hitch think is no doubt at least partially valid, I've run a lot of miles with a Towbeast hitch and 24" extension, which is rated to 8K lbs and 800 lbs of tongue weight (with a top quality WD system, I use Reese dual cam). Wouldn't hesitate for an instant towing a two horse trailer with it, as long as I stayed inside of the ratings at all times. Agree that the other brand has higher ratings and would give more cushion, but towbeast is pretty good stuff.

You guys are funny, and helpfully.
Shall I assume Paul and Brad tend to differ on opinion. wink
My truck will have a receiver on it already, since I order it with the towing package.
So just need a really good quality extension.
To ensure clearance behind the camper, is a 24 inch one long enough with a 9'6" snowbird camper?
Thanks
Traded my travel trailer for a camper.
Now I have to learn all the tricks to campers, I already knew for travel trailers.

You need a towing "system". It all starts with the receiver. The factory hitches aren't up to the task. Your only options are the Superhitch or the Reese Tow Beast. They're pricey, but you have to pay to play....safely that is.

I agree with BC...the towin package wires and plug are usually good but the hitch really are not up to the task of an extension...they cannot handle the lever torque they will be subjected to. They just don't go back far enuf with the hardware mounting points. My Reese is almost 3 feet from tip of recver to the furthest bolt...lots of leverage there! Factory hitches are frail and just a glorified bumper hitch. BTW since I changed my bumper, the bumper (buckstop) hitch is more capable than the factory hitch!
Get a 2.5 for an extension...no question!
