There is absolutely no problem with using a SR/SB off the truck on its jacks. Just lower it down close to the ground. My previous camper was quite wobbly. Snowbird campers have very well anchored brackets, they use sikaflex under the brackets not the grey putty tape. The owner of the company once demonstrated how strong it is by removing all the bolts from the brackets & supporting it with the adhesive only. I can't even get mine to wobble a little bit using it off the truck.

I am going to get a spray in box liner is that enough, or do I need a mat to?
BoilerEE,
thanks for the link to the stabilizing brackets, those would be very easy for me to make in the shop.
If I find it sways, I will just fab some up myself.
Thanks again everyone.
Traded my travel trailer for a camper.
Now I have to learn all the tricks to campers, I already knew for travel trailers.

I would definetly spend the 70 bucks for the mat. It will cushion the camper and prevent any movement.

I think most here would agree that having a spray in liner is a great way to go. I have had 2 trucks with Linex spray in liner and have had no problems and would reccomend the product highly. I'm sure others have had great luck with Rhino. Kind of a Ford, Chevy or Dodge thing. You find what works well for you and then defend to the death why you are right and the other guy is wrong . I also think most here would get on board with a mat over the liner. I got mine from Carquest for about $70.00. It's about 3/8" to a 1/2" thick, good quality in my opinion, and is cut out to fit my Dodge. And they also are made to fit those other 2 brands as well .
Good luck and keep asking questions, and we in turn will rant, rave and hash it out amoug ourselves untill ya get it right.....

I bleed blue, I am that much of a ford guy.
And yes, I am getting a rhino liner sprayed in.
I will look into a bed mat as well.
I see no need for a bed mat or bed liner in a chevy or dodge though.....Just how would the box get damaged in the shop.....LMAO

A bed mat is a must, and with a quality mat you really wouldn't need a liner, unless its for work when the camper is off. Otherwise you are just adding unnecessary cost. I went with a mat only after advice I got here and never looked back.

Ditto. The bed mat is there to reduce the movement of the camper in the truck bed. If the camper slides around, it puts a LOT of strain on the tied own system. It does help protect the bed, but it's mainly there to encrease the coefficent of friction between the camper and the truck bed/Rhino Liner.

Look for blem bedmats on ebay. I picked up a blem bedmat for a Chevy and put it into my Dodge. I had to trim the two front corners for it to fit. And the blem part????? I really can't find anything wrong with it. I think I paid $35 shipped to my door.
