I'm in the market for a new 5er and want to get some input on the living room area floor plans. I really like the layout of the RE ones with the fireplace and hidden TV in the fireplace in the rear. It seems to me that this is not only more pleasing to my eye but also a better use of space, much easier to view the TV while cooking too. I'm just wondering why their seem to be more floor plans with the slide located TV fireplace than the rear ones??? Another reason I like the RE better is that I don't like the twin recliner setup in any 5th wheel and would prefer to take them out and add another sofa sleeper and this looks like it could be better accomplished in the RE floor plans. I will be living in the 5er fulltime. Thoughts?

The only problem with the rear TV is everyone will be turning their head sideways to view it. Our side mounted Tv swivels out to angle any direction for more comfortable viewing at the table or kitchen area.. That is our reason for selecting the side entertainment model.

I am looking at the Heartland Bighorns now. But in general I have found that most manufacturers models numbers that end in RL=rear living and RE= rear entertainment.

Now that makes sense but I see myself laying on the sofa more than sitting
Any other reasons advantages of a side entertainment FP?

My favorite floor plan of all time was the one Fleetwood did a few years ago. Kitchen over the pin, LR in the middle, BR/BA at the back. I loved that layout, but it only lasted 2 or 3 years. My understanding is that the hitch weight was very high.
Barring that, I like the kitchen at the very back, which is why I chose my current unit. Somehow, it seems more roomy to me. I guess it's walking into that open space with no bar or counters, etc.

With the RE setup, it blocks your view out of the back window when the tv is up.

We looked at some REs. At first glance, they look really nice. But sitting in the rear-most chair or the rear-most position on the couch, the TV viewing angle is pretty extreme.
