There was a wedding chapel in Lake Tahoe called "The Hitchin Post." Some friends got married there years ago.

There's a radiator repair shop on the east side of Yankton, Hwy 50.

Sign on building says " Best Place In Town To Take A Leak".

Laundromat here says "Maytag's never die, they just wash away."

My great uncle was a dentist. He had a partner and their dental clinic was "Payne and Lovett". Sounds about right for a dentist, doesn't it?

I have actually seen the radiator shop, but I have yet to see the laundromat. I lived in Aberdeen South Dakota for years.

My inlaws ran a bar named the Dew Drop Inn that predated the Walton's show by 60 years. Previous name was the "Bloody Bucket". I don't know why.

Some years back, I had to leave my car to have some work done on it. The repair place told me they would rent me a loaner while it was being fixed. They rented me a ten year old car from a place called "Ugly Duckling Car Rental". It was an ugly duckling all right. But, the funny part was, the owner of the Ugly Duckling rental lots was a parent company called "B. A. Swan Inc.".

Back in New England there was a car rental place called "rent-a-wreck" most of their cars were over 10 years old, they did great business from what I remember... There was also a diner called "road kill cafe" funny place, all the stuff on the menu was something like "rack of racoon = anything dead on bread" you get the point... All the wait people had different sounds that played over the speakers to let them know they had orders to pick up, like something getting hit by a car... Great place to eat, though I think they went out of business.

We were up in Mountain View, Arkansas this past weekend. We were driving around and I noticed a new business in a building I have past 100's of times. The name of the shop was "Linda's Curl Up and Dye Beauty Shop". I started laughing my butt off.........

I'd assume Lida was the owner.. A cute play on words. I've seen a few places with "Curl up and Dye" type names

And for the Walton fans

Dew Drop In or variations on the speling of Do or Dew, were around long before Waltons aired.

There is also a place called "The body shop" around here somewhere.. and the logo includes, as I recall, a plane crashed into the buliding (Or perhaps a car)

It is a restaurant

Mr.Ddog:

the laundromat is just north of the railroad tracks in town. Coming in from the east on Hwy 50, go north at the first light(Burleigh Street) and you see it just as you cross the tracks on your right side.
