Just reinforces my thoughts of never taking our rv into Mexico. Seems there are some drug crack downs going on. Travel at your own risk it looks like to me.

2003 Jayco 308fbs eagle 33' tt, towed by a 2003 Ram 3500 slt, quad cab dually, cummins diesel ho, trailer towing package, with 6 speed manual. Hauls better 1/2, 3 kids, myself, and a 2003 ez go clays car.. I have added so far, neon lights, clearance lights, back up lights, black light, lift kit, mud tires, and everything necessary to make the golf cart street legal. It's now ready to spend the winter in the garage for more mods. More neon, strobe lights, alarm, a pa system, maintance, and whatever else that comes along. This golf cart does wheelies and travels thru 7 inches of mud when need be. Two honda eu2000i gens twinned to supply the electrical power. Latest addition an 04 Honda Goldwing. Just reinforces what those of us who travel in Mexico have said all along, the border has its problems with the drug cartels and be careful what you do and where you go along the border.

This is not new, and I would ask the 1st 3 posters if you have ever traveled in Mexico, or just like to throw out scare tactics. Mexico is as safe as one cares to make it and if you don't believe me, look up the murder statistics of the US and then look up the kidnap statistics of just one city in the US, Phoenix. Don't bury your head in the sand and say this is a problem in Mexico only, when our statistics are worse than their.

Yes I have traveled into Mexico taking the car in, with Sanborns insurance you can buy at the border. I took an old car and was not to worried about losing it. I saw the poverty, and would feel out of place in a big rv. I feel an expensive rv, in such a poor country, would make me stand out as a target. There is plenty to see here in the USA as far as I am concerned.

The Texan,

You should read the following article in regards to the kidnappings in Phoenix. It states that there hasn't been a "real" kidnapping in Phoenix for a long time. The kidnappings are tied to illegal immigrants, drug control among them, etc. The "Mexican" problem just crossed the border, however the authorities have cut into this a lot the past year. Just FYI.
